As a NHL Center Ice subscriber I follow four teams regularly:
The Hawks (of course)
Tampa Bay
Columbus
Minnesota (Center Ice not needed but I'm kinda forced to with where I live)
I had Columbus and Tampa meeting in the ECF before the year started. And the Kings meeting the Hawks again in the WCF. I guess 50% isn't terrible....or whatever.... - MNHawk
Just like the hockey news I had Tampa Bay/Chicago before the season and before the playoffs.. and wow I may be right. I'll win a big bag of nothing for that pick.
I certainly didn't think the Rangers would be as good after losing some key depth guys last summer. Thought the Ducks would be a playoff team but not win the division and advance this far. Kudos to both of those teams. |

You're either a troll or grossly ignorant
If Letang was as good as Keith, then why has Letang never made an olympic team and never won a norris trophy? - FourFeathers773
I don't think that Letang is a top 5 defenseman in the league personally but I find it hilarious that just because someone has a different opinion they are a troll or ignorant. |

That just says the Sabres wanted Fowler not that Anneheim offered him. Who's bubble would that burst? - emcane
No, it actually says that the names being discussed were Fowler and Myers
It doesnt say at all that Murray wasnt entertaining the idea or blacklisting Fowler or that BUF was asking for him specifically
“That's interesting because yesterday I received a phone call early in the morning about Tyler Myers from somebody in the league and it was about the Ducks and it said that they're talking a lot right now. I was surprised by the names that I was hearing. I think what the Sabres are looking at is another D in return. The name that was in was Cam Fowler, who's a young D, obviously, with the Ducks. And another player could be involved if that trade comes up. So it's going to be Tyler Myers for, let's say, a defenseman like Cam Fowler and another player. Is it going to happen? I don't know.

Now that we have Stanley Cup caliber hockey, I'm still wondering when the officiating will catchup..... |

I think you were spot on in this one, John.
I think the Hawks are going to win, but it's about as close to 50/50 as a game 7 can get. I can't wait! |

like when kesler slashed someones stick with his wrist?
officiating hasnt been a deciding factor in any game in this series, give it a rest. we've seen the two best teams in the league punch each other back and forth for 6 games, and 7 should be a beauty. |

Last night was what I expected. Hawks played very well, but I will say I was very impressed by the Ducks 1st, 20 minutes. Some no calls that went both ways, but lots of crap the Ducks were doing I was waiting for a call at some point to happen.
hawks have solved Anderson. Just need to put him away. 2 soft goals....wide open 5 hole on saad's mini breakaway that I think Saad can't even believe was there based on hard he fired that shot to get it through. The Kane goal, sick hands, and then a weak one that squeaked through Anderson. Goal 3, was a beauty but Anderson lost his net........badly. Fact is, these are the goals that cost you playoff games, and this board has ripped CC over the years for similar bad ones. Just thought I would point out that supposed super Vienza Anderson has been made to look B-A-D since Saturday.
I love Desjardin. Not the most noticeable of the Bowman trades, but the best one he made. Guy is a warrior. Period, and a helluva of gamer. Shaw was in beast mode. That 4th line was dangerous.
Kudos to Q for not only scratching old man and the sea, but to also flip Kane and hossa. Paid off big time.
I'm not the biggest Keith fan, but he was amazing to watch last night. That was game 4 2011 WCQ vs Vancouver we saw.
Get through the 1st, 10 minutes Saturday either tied or up and I like their chances. Anaheim looks very tired and shaken. A lead will resurrect all those old demons in Bruce's and the Ducks closet .Let the media barrage begin........... |

the amount of talent on chicago is light years ahead of what his nashville teams have been, thats an absurd comparison to make, especially with the playoffs. - flyershockey
I doubt it's absurd. Hawks have won 2 Stanley Cups and gotten to their 4th WCF in his time here, meaning more games, yes, but also played against top teams while he's been there. He is not part of the Hawks success, he is a reason for their success. And to make the team better, get wins, put up points, and boast a high +/- while playing top teams, that is why he is top in the NHL at his position.

Keith' game has now evolved into Lidstrom territory. He continues to amaze me with the things he does. That double pump shot/pass to Hossa last night was ridiculous. Letang is no where near Keith in overall game.

forming an opinion with disregard to the evaluation of facts is pretty much standard definition of ignorance

as someone mentioned before, swap out duncan keith for shea weber over the same time span, its not a stretch to say the hawks still win those 2 cups with weber eating the huge minutes. if duncan keith is on nashville vs weber, nashville doesnt win a cup. its apples and oranges when looking at team accomplishments. |

Last night they let them play early and then called a very BAD ticky tack penalty on the Hawks in the 3rd. Can't switch the tolerance level mid game. All players ask for is consistency and last night was bad in that department.
Outside of that I never complain about officiating and agree with you on the outcome of the series re officiating.
I assume we will see the same, players play, Friday and Saturday with limited PPs. |

the world being flat is something that can be proven. you can have stats to back up your opinion on a players worth, but it cant be proven with absolute certainty like the world being round. |

When you are talking about "the best" of anything, please remember that these are all simply opinions, which are perfect to the owner and questionable to most everybody else.
Trying to make an argument against the likes of Shea Weber just comes off as petty. The guy is a PHENOMENAL hockey player, a certain HOF and would be the cornerstone of every hockey team in the league! Keith is a great defenseman as well, just be happy we have one of those two!
As for next year, Bowman is going to have to shave at least one, if not two large salaries to make things fit, that means that Bickell, Crawford and Sharp will all be considered for trades. Who knows what will happen?
As for Runbad, if he's in CHI next season it will only be due to Bowman's ego. Objectively, he has NO PLACE on the Hawks moving forward. Oduya should be retained because that gives the Hawks a top 4 to work around with the likes of Stephen Johns, Ville Pokka and FA's. I don't consider TVR as having a legitimate shot because he simply can't stay healthy for any period of time, and this goes back to his midget hockey days as well. He's a good player, but is brittle and hockey is the wrong sport for that condition. |

i agree with you completely on the consistency. that bothers me a lot more than what they call and dont call. set the standard early and keep it that way throughout the game. to be fair, in game 5 anaheim was called for a very ticky tack penalty in the 3rd period. it goes both ways. |

I am glad you think selective reading is cool, because you are a champ at it. The quotes is coming from a Sabre's reporter and mentions info from "somebody in the league" and says the Sabres are looking for D in return and then mentions Cam. It doesn't say the Ducks were offering him either, so how does that burst the Duck's fan's bubble again?
