Point being, if the leafs got a highly touted guy from the 5-10 draft number, a 1st and a 3rd, there are no guarantees the 5-10 prospect becomes anything other than a regular guy, if they do good work and get the right guy well - Philly...

Last year in mid June they had won 11 in a row and were leading the division by 6 games and I was saying it's too early to judge the season.

Now we're at the end of May and they're 4 games back and it's too early to judge the season.

I am not judging AA or The Jays on this season, although I don't see how you can possibly win with that bullpen. I am judging the last 5 years and the body of mediocrity.

As for the Leafs, Babcock probably gets 2 years to be really bad before the wolves will be at the door. That's just the way it is in this market. By then Nylander, Strome/Marner, Brown, Rielly, Leivo, Leipsic, Percy and the vets like Kadri, JVR, Gardiner etc should be ready to at least be respectable.
