Why does Nash get the excuse of not having good players around him but not Kessel?

And the history of long stretches without scoring is a complete myth. Kessel has actually been more consistant than Rick Nash in their careers.

ill 2nd this. Kessel plays with a guy who has never cracked 50 pts. He turned JVR from a 20/20 guy into a 30/30 guy. the only stretch he had of not scoring was under horacek. 82pts in 80, 52pts in 48, 80 pts in 82, 42 pts in 40 (when randy was axed)

I hate no faith that they will trade Kessel or even try to. He contributed to the tank --- it failed. Move on. Shanny just told everyone he was available to soften the blow of the tank. There is no way he is traded. Shanny never had that in mind.

I think they get more than a couple scrubs and a mediocre pick.

The notion the Leafs would need to take back an expensive contract is legitimate. Just to make the money work for a team that may not be as wealthy as Toronto.

I think the best fit for Kessel, is Columbus. Put him on their first line, with Ryan Johanson and look out! If they want to give us their first, this year, plus Boone Jenner and a third, next year, then I can see an equitable deal for both teams.

Kessel and Phaneuf will not yield much for the Leafs right now with those mega-deals after down seasons. They might as well keep them for now and try to "sell" a bit higher down the road.

Not comparing the skill, just the type of player. They are a bit one dimensional but it's a damn good dimension. I don't think Patrick Kane would have one a cup if he was on Toronto but I do think that Kessel would have won if he was on Chicago.

Put Kessel on Columbus all these years and no one craps on him or says he has big scoring draughts.

Kane doesn't play with Toews. Never did.
Only very recently were they put together on the same line.
