I don't see why not. Scoring as whole is down in the NHL. Several guys scored 50-60 back in the day. Now only one guy can, sometimes. Gary (frank)ing Leeman scored 50 once. That doesn't put him above Kessel and into the mix with greats, does it?

Kessel is one of the best goal scorers in the league, no debate about that.

someone said apples and oranges and in a way it's true. what if Kessel was drafted onto that Hawks team 10 years ago? and what if Kane went to Toronto via Boston? i think situations helped mold them into the players they are.

no doubt he is a better two way player though, but hard to compare a guy who tops out at mid 60's in points to a guy who would consider that a poopty year. at least offensively.

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Kessel....that would tilt the balance of power in the east IMHO
