a lot of teams are missing a player like Kessel.

and real GM's see that, and real GM's will go out and get that player if they believe he's the missing piece to their puzzle.

This is somewhat of an overstatement... In fact an absolute overstatement. Here's a quote from David Poile:

“I love Phil as a player. Who wouldn’t want to have what he produces offensively? I’ve read all the things about him being uncoachable, and from my experience, that is not the case. In terms of him having issues getting along with teammates, playing his role and performing for his coach, absolutely not.”

I think that Phil would be a fit on most teams in the league. Whether the contract would fit is the question, not his ability.
