Pietrangelo isn't going anywhere.

Also, let's not make the assumption that Oshie and/or Backes will still be here in September....

I can't wait to see Pietrangelo in the blue and white next season

Ah, but that's not what you said. You said a guy traded at the deadline sign back with the team who traded him. Back pedaling.
- djamon

I said the team who traded him, not traded for him.

Dude...Buffalo traded him. I thought this had already been established.

Yeah, I didn't remember that part. I thought he went from NYI to BUF and that's it.

I actually suggested a Couturier and Lecavelier for Phaneuf deal a while back. Someone mentioned that Lecavelier probably wouldn't waive the NMC to come here.

He might just for the chance to play for Babcock. Wouldn't hurt to ask though.

Something tells me he wouldn't get along with Babcock.

Now I'd take any of these 2 in a NY minute.

Go compare where Kessel stood in the league for the FIVE YEARS leading up to this year vs, where Nash stood in the league for the 5 years before his trade.

It is not close and no, Nash is not a defensive stalwart, or a fearless leader or a huge physical presence.

- Aetherial

You should take your own advice.

Comparison of Kessel (now) and Nash (time of trade)

Age:
Nash - 28
Kessel - 27

PPG – Last 5 years
Nash - .72, .88, .88, 1.01, .86
Kessel: .74, .98, 1.08, 1.00, .78

Contract Status
Nash: 6 years, $7.8M, LNTC
Kessel: 7 years, $8.0M, LNTC

Other
Kessel – elite scoring winger, with speed and playmaking ability
Nash – elite scoring winger with unique combination of size and skill

I thought I heard somewhere that he wouldn't block any trades if Philly could trade him, I'm not certain though.

why is no one talking about Carter Verhaeghe on here? he actually looks like a pick where the leafs might have stolen one. decent two-way center. good vision, has lead the ice dogs in scoring the past 2 years. i don't think people give him enough credit on here. he is 6'2, so ideal height, but only 185lbs. will need to add some weight, maybe get close to the 200 mark. he is someone to watch out for next year on the marlies.

I know eh..

If someone says they want Kessel, I'm like sure, take him.

But we aren't allowed to discuss their players.

I was happy with that pick. He might be a gem that was hidden behind Ryan Strome for a while.

haven't seen anything special from the Ninja Hertl since his 5 point game or whatever...I do however think Kessel will end up in the West.

I'm a fan of his. Seen him play live a couple times. Always leading the team both offensively and defensively. Face offs.

Good size, smart player.
