The contract rules state that the team is entitled to it. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'd take it.

It's horsesh!t, though, really. You would think the Pens would be happy to stop paying him.

I think they'd be happier to stop paying him and get an extra draft pick in the process.

If someone hires him and the Sabres get a pick, it would probably the the biggest instance of highway robbery since the Hasek trade.

That's fun. Does he have any feeling on where he'll fall in the draft?
- TheSabresTaco

Not sure really? He was posting some articles on FB about Buffalo possibly wanting him the other day thats the only reason I chimed in. Honestly never met the kid but watched him a couple of times. Seems to have a boat load of talent. Ive known his family since ive been a kid and theyre all hockey players at just about every level.

Buffalo: plethora of picks throughout the next two drafts, wants to hire bylsma

Pittsburgh: continually depletes young depth prospects and draft picks to make terrible trades. Paying bylsma not to coach the team anymore, thinks it makes sense to squeeze buffalo out of a draft pick

is exactly what i would do if i were murray

I want the Vancouver Giants' 1st round pick. So let's hope that 15 year old is awesome.

Isn't it a guaranteed contract and Pitts has to pay him anyways ?

That's cool. I have a feeling the only reason he's tied to Buffalo in any way is because he played on a line with Jack in the US Dev team. But if we could snag him with NYI 2, that'd be awesome. The risk is that he doesn't develop enough strength to play in the NHL, but damn he's got the skill and speed.

yes sir. My question is, is his contract terminated upon hire? Or do they have to lump sum pay him upon re-hiring.

Im not entirely sure how it all works.. On the radio they are making it seem you do not have to pay once he signs elsewhere.

I just feel that asking for a draft pick for a coach no longer coaching your team, or ever will coach your team again is hilarious. The hilarity is exemplified by the incompetence of penguin management over the last 5 years.

Difference between babcock and bylsma

Babcock still assumed detroit coaching duties untill the day he signed in toronto.

Bylsma has nothing to do with the penguin organization other than collecting a check.

Essentially detroit traded babcock, almost like a free agent at the trade deadline.

Bylsma is like a player who got bought out and is verging on signing with a new team july 1st.

(frank) off pittsburgh its shady as hell

He's also from Freeport, so he also has ties to the area.

As far as the questions surrounding his strength, the same thing was a concern for Kane. He seems to have managed just fine.

My question is, since we do not have a 3rd rounder this year, and Pitt wants picks this year, how does this pan out? Do the ask for a 2nd? Where do we draw the line and tell them to frank off?
