Hard to say, but there's nothing about DeBoer that impresses me whatsoever. At least Bylsma has some success, even if it was "inherited".

Now there's a guy who really loved his vets when he ought to have played the kids.

I think Adam Larsson had a total turn around once he was gone.

That assumes Chicago doesn't match.
- buffalofan19

With what looks like a guaranteed top 5 pick I just don't see them matching as they have others in their system that just replace him and they get to reload off us.

He strikes me as a guy that would if he thought he could get what he wants. Doesn't seem to be too concerned about stepping on the toes of the other GMs

I just don't see it. His work this summer involves the draft and a trade imo. I don't think offer sheets is in his thought process at the moment.

I bet he doesn't, values that 1st round pick next year. Not the time to offer sheet yet, wait until the Sabres are projected to finsh late teens into the 20s to give up 1st. Not to mention the draft will be in Buffalo.

It's a long shot given the "unwritten code" that comes with offer sheets but i think the most realistic one is still toffoli.

The hawks dead weight is still somewhat valuable on the market. I don't know what the kings would move to match a big offer sheet for Toffoli (should he accept one).

Not sure who is a RFA the year following but I think that is the time to look at offer sheets. Lower risk of handing someone a top 5 pick.

He's going to do what he wants to make this team better, I only know of 1 offer sheet from the Sabres and that was going to go to Parise.

Agreed. More likely he works a trade for an RFA then actually going through with the offer sheet

Love what Bogo brings to this team! Character and toughness, with an overall 2-3 DMan skill set.

Yeah, I agree not to mention offer sheets are few and far between. If Yost didn't just speculate about what might be a good stratagy there would not be this much talk about it.

Ladd is a good player, but he really probably should be a 2nd liner. On a legit contender, that's ideally where he'd fit.
- HonkFortheGoose

I would take Ladd on my first line. Certainly scores like a 1st line player and plays a complete two way game with some grit

I don't see it either. He's more of an old school gm where he respects other GM's too much to break the unwritten code

Murray's comments have just as much to do with it as well.

He basically said he wants to target cap strapped teams, and players under 24, or I guess you could call them RFA's

Did you listen to Craig Rivet on WGR today, loves Bogosian and what he can bring to the Sabres. Said, ahem, hmmm, well listen to the last hour of hockey hotline or whatever they call that cruddy show. I don't want to pick at old scabs.
- GilPerreault11

Bogosian is a decent player no doubt, but he isn't a franchise defensemen lime he was expected to be. That was the point

Murray doesn't care, if it works for the Sabres he will do it.

I don't think he put all of those statements together. He said if he deals #21 it's to move up or for a young, under 24 yr old player. Also that some teams are going to be cash strapped and there could be deals to be made there. I think it's a reach to interpret all of that as offer sheets for RFA's but that's just my opinion.
