Thats the plan, Sakic already said that a few months ago. They are going to do everything they can to extend him but refuse to let this be a distraction into next season.

Either he signs this summer or he is gone before training camp. It does seem like all signs are pointing him to resigning, both parties are saying the right things in the media.

Johnson will be an easier singing, he has a good thing going in Colorado, I dont see him going anywhere
