Because not all of us are interested in blowing the future for a fringe 2nd liner.


If a high quality player isn't available, there's no sense trading it just to appease an impatient group of fans.

They are everywhere and that's the point. Few of these guys are drafted high and they usually aren't touted as huge prospects. Keep trying til you find one. Hell, I'd bring back Neuvirth.

In P Kanes second season, the hawks had 104 points , 6th in NHL and made it to the WCF's

It's entirely possible that the player picked at 11 (or so) is worth more than the player available to exchange for 21.

sabres prospects are as good as the hawks when they drafted kane

That's my point though. Can't expect a core with an average age of 21-22 to just turn this team into a contender in a calendar year.
