The Sabres organization's reaction seems to be more media driven. Obviously they're pissed, but not sure if they want it to be as public as this. Murray seems to be taking the high road like a pro. Kinda petty of Sabres media member going to his introductory presser and basically accusing him of lying.

The sabres are professionals. The media on the other hand are usually a bunch of (frank)ing clowns. Did you give a listen to Murray's interview from this afternoon?

top post on link quotes the guy

Another doozy:

" don't know what Eichel has done to make him this can't miss franchise player, I think he will be the fourth or fifth best forward out of the draft. I don't see this superstar player some think he will be."

If youguys didn't listen to Murray's interview this afternoon on wgr, do it. It explains so many of our petty debates and assumptions. Babcock wanted too much power? Pure bullpoop. Murray is going to try to trade for mcdavid? Bullpoop. Murray's going to go after some old fart like Patrick Sharp? Bullpoop.

Thanks again, Tim. Keep being pro.

Tell him he's not a (frank)ing scout.. I can't pull the link on my phone for some reason. Let's quote Murray, a professional scout. "this is the easiest number 2 pick I think I'll ever see"

I understand questioning his ability to be generational...or even franchise but 5th best forward?

You don't have to bee a scout to know that Eichel is going to be very, very good.

Granted, yes. But to this juncture I haven't seen Murray say one thing and completely contradict himself. Not once. Heblatantly said I'm not calling Peter. He said we're building a young core and will shop the pick to either move up or grab a player around 24 or less. Which unfortunately means my nemesis.

One of my favorite moments, when you think about it was when he was asked about Nolan's future, instead of fervently denying his dismissal, he said he'd evaluate him. I think we all knew what that meant.

With the Myers trade, it's easy to see he wasn't being shopped, because to Murray we got a comparable defenseman in terms of his talent, and the best player in the deal while conforming with losing out the year. Got rid of a UFA, a prospect Murray didn't like, a late first that won't contribute for 3 years and a guy who apparently wouldn't sign with us. At face value today, we won that trade. Imo of course.

I'd take a peek at the AHL (other than richardson)

John Hynes/Wilkes-Barre- he just completed his 5th season for the baby pens and has compiled the best record in that stretch, going 186-102-7-13. Wilkes Barre won the regular season championship in 2011.

Travis Green/Utica- Just completed his second season in Utica. prior to that he had success with Portland of the WHL.

Ted Dent/Rockford- Been Rockford's HC for 4 years now and has spent 9 years coaching in the Black Hawks system and has been instrumental in developing many players including Bryan Bickell, Dave Bolland, Brandon Bollig, Brandon Saad, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Corey Crawford.

Derek Laxdall/Texas- Just finished his first season with a record of 40-22-13-1. prior to that, he coached the Edmonton Oil Kings for 4 years, winning the memorial cup.

That's all I could come up with.

Thanks Cab. I just did a quick check and that's what I came up with. Hynes seems to be the best of that group.

Nice list other names i'd consider as well like Zettler or Hershey's coach (though he's a little old).

Troy Mann is Hershey's coach and he is 44 and just finished his first year there. Maybe you're thinking about John Anderson, who is 58 and coaches the Chicago Wolves. Zettler coaches Syracuse.
