Curious of how it worked was all, wasn't callin' you a slacker. Messing with a Google guy is well down my bucket list.

I was in till near 7 pm yesterday... Normally I start between 7 and 7:30 am. That helps me be on more when I pull an hour early start.

Sounds like it's going to take more then Sutter and BB

It'd have to be a defenseman...right? We talking Poiliot level?

Maybe not... you can check the Arizona blog if you want, but here is why we might be able to buy low on Boedker.

I hate that. I don't like Sutter and I just don't think you'd get that great a return on Boedker anyways because he's coming off surgery and he hasn't really lived up to his potential yet. Better to keep him and not waste the years of development put in so far, in my opinion.

Not up to potential yet, and recently injured... Bennett 2.0 >_>

edit: Or not a 2.0. 6 feet tall and 210+ lbs. He has on the weight Bennett has needed for 4 years.

He's just a blogger. His opinion carries the same weight as yours.

Only thing that matters is where the gm sees sutter.

Oh and they should relocate that joke of a franchise.

His opinion should have more weight than mine or yours, considering hes watched him over 20 times more than we have.

I think phx is stocked at d. Their offense is a joke. Oel was the leading scorer.

Sutter, bb, 3rd....that 2nd would be handy now.

Also... James Tanner's view on Boedker...

So, he doesn't want us to have him... sounds good.

And our one Flyer friend's opinion on him...

the bold is an oxy moron

I think of him as a speedy 25 goal scorer next to Sid or Geno (likely fits best with Sid). I'd say hes a little larger version of Cogliano. I'm a fan of his, but wouldn't put together a big package for him (aka Pouliot)

We need to make some moves, Two Star Centers with limited wingers isn't working... and for Sutter and Bennett, thats not a bad player to target if that can obtain him.

I don't see how we can remove offensive players. BB, for all the poop he takes, could still be really good once his balls drop. And another pick going out? I'd rather deal from the defense.

Remember, I am dealing out Kunitz in this trade-palooza... That should bring back a ~3rd rounder.

Overall, we are losing Sutter and Kunitz for offensive production... and Adding in Semin and this Boedker. Bennett is not relevant production, nor was Spaling.

Agree with that. No point of having 71 with guys like comeau, Kunitz, .....

The boedker deal is good for both teams. Then sign a fe 3c or get berglund.

I would do it because I don't care much for Sutter...but I think that package could get more than Boedker to be honest. Sutter and Boedker aren't too far off in terms of value, imo.

That is really pushing what all we can do...

If you have the top two lines as

Boedker - Crosby - Horny
Perron - Malkin - Semin

Beglund is just overkill, and maybe not cap possible. I'd be fine with riding a 3rd line of Downie, Winnik, and whoever as a grinding shutdown line. And the 4th line doing whatever.

I like your 5 step plan. The top 6 is a little "soff" but Perron and Horny are physical enough to get by. Would want some beefed up 3rd and 4th lines in that scenario.

Would be our best top 6 in quite some time. All 30 or younger. Horny, Boedker, Perron are on good contracts. Semin is the only true "sniper" of the bunch so it would depend how he turns out.

What did you trade to get Sperm in this scenario though?

Perron, Horny, and Malkin all hit. I don't know about Boedker, but Semin at 30 hits this season would be labeled as soft.

Harrington, Spaling, and maybe a pick... assuming Carolina wants to go rebuild, Harrington would be the best D prospect for them. Spaling is a solid body for them to have for the time being. A mid pick is a mid pick.

Sportsnet is reporting Burmistrov is coming back to the NHL this season. 23 year old talented winger with a top of potential. Does Winnipeg consider moving him considering their soured relationship? Considering Winnipegs "heavy" style , do they value a guy like Kunitz?? Kunitz and Harrington for Burmistrov?

This is so close to being right but Semin just bothers me. I don't know if its because I hated him when he was a cap and now I think he's an embarasment in Carolina, but I just feel like we should have better options. If we get Boedker, our top 6 is so close to being filled out that I don't think we should gamble on the sperm bank. What if Kapanen proves to be ready? We're gonna kick ourselves for moving Harrington for a 31 year old Semin. I'd rather use the Semin cap space to sign Soderberg and make our third line actually productive.

Winnik-Soderberg-Downie/Comeau would be a righteous third line that could get us back to Staal-era shutdown to open up opportunities for our new and improved top 6. Dupuis comes back and fills that 3RW and its even better.

Some insight into 5 of the prospects that the pens have http://thehockeywriters.c...enguins-prospects-part-1/

Earlier in this blog... I am going to take that as a reason to not be set on Kap taking the top 6 right away. Plus we can't risk making him rush and be another Bennett.

Dupuis is also risky to hope for top 6 as well off this injury.

I have nothing against Soderberg, but stop pretending that 31 years old is "too old" for Semin. His last year at 34 might be too old, but you don't get everything your way.

Downie/Winnik/Comeau sounds like just as good of a deadly 3rd line IMO too.

Don't forget Dupuis somewhere. Unless he actually retires, he should be well off blood thinners at that point. He'd be a good fit on that third line. I'm really hoping Comeau is back on the other wing. Loved the physical presence he brought and looked good as a guy jumping up the lineup with injuries. I'd expect a couple young guys on that 4th line trying to earn more ice time, likely some combo of Sundqvist, Wilson, or Rust. A versatile pk guy like Winnik or Spaling finishes things off. Personally, I don't see Winnik as more than a good 4th liner who can move up, not a 3rd line center.
