A third rounder within the next 3 years I believe. He's still under contract for Detroit until June 30th so if he signs with another team it would technically be Detroit trading him to said team. Their asking price was a third rounder.

Normally teams don't negotiate with coaches already under contract, but with a bunch of teams interested in Babcock the Wings were able to get compensation for him by letting teams talk to him early.

Well, you did say this would be basically negoitated by Monday, so you're only a day off. Hell in a situation like this, I bet even Mike himself didn't know last week if he'd agree to a team by Monday. You also said Buffalo would land him, which is as good as saying it's either Buffalo's huge contract or staying with Detroit. All other teams appear to be out.. so I'll give that to you too.
