I doubt that offer is legit. But if they are offering close to $5 million and he goes back to Detroit for $3.5 the Sabres look really bad.

Ted Nolan may not be without a coaching job for long, as he and the Vancouver Giants of the WHL appear to be talking.
It'll come with a steep decline in pay, however. While NHL coaching jobs generally pay as low as $700K, WHL coaches generally top out around the $100K range. Perspective is everything. Nolan last coached in major junior in 2005-06 with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. They won 52 games and the championship.

I don't know if he wants anything more than input on roster decisions. If Murray can't make that concession for one of the best coaches in the league that's an issue.

Gus isn't going anywhere, and while I'd love to get something for Howie, I think he sticks around. Mraz is young and needs a solid vet backup. Wings would have to have something in place.

Honestly this whole thing is annoying. Stay or go, who takes weeks to decide? It seems almost selfish like he believes all these rumors that he's the best hockey coach. Honestly, I'd rather have blashill, a 3rd rd pick and an extra 3-4 million per year in savings if I'm illitch. Wings played this whole charade well

Agreed. Pay him $15 million per year for all I care. No skin off my back. If the Pegula's can afford it and this is how they want to spend their $ cash, then God bless em'!

IMO, If the Hawks get into cap trouble, which it appears they will, Coach Q won't look so hot, just like the last time they ran into trouble with the cap after their first cup. Its 90% about the players and how well of a job your GM can do managing the cap.
