How is having a rational discussion with other, rational posters trolling?
- Jeropotato

Simple. You come to dispute leafs fans opinions of their own players because you feel they over value their players. Which you and almost all fans do with their own teams. But you come in their house to do it. Obvious trolling.

Your asking Price is a little high....

You paid a high Price for what you hoped Bernier would be.
He didn't turn out as you hoped.
Now that that has been established, the Price goes up?

How so?

Okay, a fair price....so why should the price go up?

You think a 2nd rounder is fair price for what you called him when they traded for him?

On one hand he says bernier was thought to be one of the best young goalies coming up when the leafs traded for him...... Then turns around and says the price we paid was too high.

I think that's the going rate for a back up who is ready to prove himself as a starter. The hype on Bernier for years was he was gonna be the next big thing in net, if he could get an opportunity.

I don't think he has that mystique about now, does he?

I didn't say it was too high....but it wasn't a bargain. It's not like he was as accomplished as say, Schneider, on the day he was dealt.

But your right, I should have stayed fAir price, rather than high.

Schneider played for playoff teams. Bernier has proven he can take a starters load on one or the biggest piles of poop in the league and put up decent numbers. Bernier is very comparable to Schneider, and there's going to be GM's who view it equally and are willing to invest in him.

Trading for a goalie you think is the next big thing for a 2nd rounder isn't a high price. It's closer to a bargain than it is fair or high.

Wait. Help me understand what you mean by accomplished. Schneider had like 30 or so more nhl games than Bernier when they were traded. How was he really more accomplished than Bernier? Both goalies went from great/good to bad/poop teams, and their records before and after are a team, not player, reflection.

Schneider was really, really good with Vancouver. Just saying his record was a reflection of his team is completely unfair.....and if Bernier is so good and valuable , why does everyone want to trade him with no successor in place?

I would too. Bernier, Eddie Lack, and to a lesser extent ( and cheaper price) Talbot or Jones.

How much more tanking are you planning on doing? We tanked for 5 years and are the disgrace of the league...do you really want that?

I would happy with a guy like Talbot on the Leafs. Steady, unspectactular goaltending is what a rebuilding team needs. Won't steal a lot of games but won't demoralize developing kids. Both Reimer and Bernier have too many ups and downs in their game.

That will be quite a feat since they don't have 2nd round selections this year.

How the heck did the Leafs pay a high price? They got him far cheaper than anyone thought.

And yes, he has turned out as we hoped. Very solid numbers on a bad team. What more do you expect?

we've been a disgrace for a lot longer than your team has been in the league, with 2 exceptions both involving giving up youth and 1sts as a consequence and never making it to the finals anyways

The two exceptions being the Sundin and Gilmour eras?
