I was never aguing price isnt the superior tender.
did fans run him out when he was 13-20-5 in 2010?
how about when they were worst in the east in 2012?
in 2013 his .905 sv% ranked bottom 5 in the NHL.
price has had 3 terrible seasons and another not good one. Bernier has had 1. give him a year or 2 and see what we got instead of shipping him off for "poop" - GardinerExpress
i'd ship him off for some one who'll clean the dog poop up in my back yard |

i just want him traded now while they can get something in return cause he really is poop, but playing behind a poop Leafs team might make other GM's think he isn't - the_eye
Well, fair enough. But he's not poop..
He's proven capable on a team that would make price look like pavelec. His numbers are a far cry from what they should be and have bordered on decent. And he's only 26. Not a big chunk of goaltenders have proven to be consistent difference makers at this age. He's only going to get better...
It does the leafs zero harm to keep him if they can't get desired value, which I'm sure won't be an issue. There's to many teams out there interested in that type of goaltender. But if they were to keep him, his value can only go up. Getting greased again next season isn't going to change GM's minds on him.
And in the event you're right, he's the worst goalie in the NHL, and he helps us draft Matthews next June. Sweet. |

or
Bernier to SJS for 1st |

Done. Especially if it's their 2015 first. That would be about as ideal a comparison to the Schneider deal as could be had.
They won't be trading hertl though. If we're going to draft marner or Strome, getting a solid d prospect out of that deal would be great. Mueller and a 2nd, or a 2016 first if they want us to take some garbage salary in return.
If we're wanting a young centre from them, Tierney is more than likely the one that could be pried away. |

Why not just keep him? Is there a better goalie option available? |

Your asking Price is a little high....
You paid a high Price for what you hoped Bernier would be.
He didn't turn out as you hoped.
Now that that has been established, the Price goes up?
How so? |

WTF are you talking about, better read back, i didn't say anything about drafting goalies - the_eye
ok but when the talk was about drafting goalies late you chimed in with
goal tending is the most important position of the game, no 1 centre is second most - the_eye

Bernier has .917SV% as a leaf, on two bad teams. could be worse. |

How the heck did the Leafs pay a high price? They got him far cheaper than anyone thought.
And yes, he has turned out as we hoped. Very solid numbers on a bad team. What more do you expect? |

he is a leaf.
value is poop regardless of numbers.
could be a top 5 scorer over the past 5 years and we would have to take a bad contract just to give him away!

I'm tired of value of every Leaf players being in the toilet no matter who they are.
I'm going to love the return the Leafs get for Dion. |

Never said he was....just not sure his value has gone up. People league wide thought he was the Next great goalie when he was in LA....those feelings have diminished somewhat. |
