Who says that the Oilers want Jones? I know its your pipe dream, but how is a second year defenseman going to improve, with veteran presence, the glaring top-2 dman hole on the Oilers blueline?

why wouldn't the oilers want Jones. He's a rare gem - he's young, big, can skate, log big mins, and a top paring R shot D! which is almost impossible to acquire. Jones is exactly what the Oilers need. Weber there on the right side will always mean Jones takes a back seat. Ya he's not ready to "dominate" but he's easily an upgrade over anyone and was drafted with Nurse. That duo would be amazing to see together. Obviously there's a chance he regresses but there's always an adjustment period. As far as pipe dreams go, everyone's purposing trades and it will take a blockbuster to get a top Dman on the right side

How is it Seabrook at 30 is a bad target for Edmonton, yet Weber at 29 isn't going to make way for Jones soon? The Oilers top 4 at the moment is all under 25, a little veteran presence would go a long way.

Won't be that way forever and a 35 year old weber and 25 year old Jones makes Jones pretty (frank)ing valuable to Nashville at that time.
