I'm not saying to trade him, just that he has more value than Yakupov if we were to trade him.
And if my goal is to fill that top pairing D from the trade, it'd be a hell of a lot easier creating a package around Eberle than Yakupov to do so. - SpoiledByOil
Yeah, I understand that, but at the same time, we don't need to trade him, so the talk of trading him doesn't compute. |

and they seem to like McLellan - LittleRicky
I'm on the McLellan train. Even when Nelson took over, the guys looked like they were having some fun again on the ice. I think that's a major problem, they weren't having fun playing because of all the suck. |

Yeah but I do think it comes more from him not knowing what to do, he over pursues quite often and he's not afraid to fly the zone early. Eberle actually seems to be in the right spot but is disinterested, maybe bored playing defence, I'm not really sure what I'm trying to say here. - Dangles13
I think you actually explained that well.
not sure I fully agree, but it's something ima look for next season on our way to the cup..... |

This is true.
I'm just not prepared to take that leap before yaks does more than score 35 pts in a season |

I hope that there is enough excitement in that room with all of the miracles this Summer that we don't see any ghosts of the past decade. |

I wonder if we could flip Jultz for a good defensive dman... |

Me too. The guys respond to him. And he can help McLellan and Chiapet get an understanding of the AHL guys and other guys like Lander. |

4th rounder? No idea. It can sway pretty drastically. |

The fact that people think Yakupov would be worth Spurgeon. |

There was a Spurgeon and sweetner for Yak suggestion online.... I'm not familiar with Spurgeon. |

Would it though? Anyone open to moving a legit top pairing Dman is likely looking for some level of cap relief.
Let's take Chicago as an example; if I'm gonna move out an established, high quality Dman like Seabrook, it's because I couldn't find the right deal for either of Sharp or Crawford. Once that condition is met, it also needs to be understood that any deal needs to have multiple lower priced, high upside pieces coming back as clearing cap space while remaining competitive needs to be the end game.
Considering that, which package do you think Chicago would prefer?
Eberle for Seabrook (perhaps another cap dump like Bickell)
or
Yakupov+ Marincin+ a 2nd in 2015
(Side note: these aren't trades I do so much as examples of types of trades that would happen)
Now one other question; which other teams would have the means to trade away a top pair Dman? As far as I can see it's the Rangers, the Hawks, and maybe one of the Canucks, the Sharks, or the Lightning- depending upon your opinions of Edler, Hamhuis, Braun, Carle, and Coburn. |

I'm not open to trading Yakupov just yet. Unless it's a "too good to pass up" offer. |

Okay, I was worried you guys were overvaluing Yak, but I was wrong. I didn't believe in you like I should have I'm sorry. |

If Jultz is retained this coming season. He better only get 3rd pairing and PP time.
Question, do you think anyone would claim him off waivers? |
