Now that the Bulls have mailed it in...

...the ice may be marginally better at the UC.

once lebron drained that bomb from the corner in G4...i expected it accelerate down hill from there and it did...

G4 the bulls had a golden opp to go up 3-1 one and just pssed it away like they did vs the bucks in their 2 losses in that series...

Guys. a little insight if anyone knows.

I watch alot....alot....of hockey. Every single playoff game, and 2-3 games a night in the regular season. Almost all the Hawk game of course, but many, many other games as well, when hawks are not playing.

I understand the Hawk stand on the Hayes thing. BUT....in watching his role with the Rangers...that big body....a bit of a touch around the net. Just wondering if anybody knows why he wasn't given more of a look with the big club when with us?? Now, don't get me wrong...not saying he is a superstar in wait....just that he seemed to jump right into a pretty solid ranger line-up, play a significant role. And is doing quite well. as a matter of fact, I would go as far as to say he was the best Ranger in a couple of their games against the Capitals.

Was it a personality thing??....was it Bickels big contract blocking a spot for Hayes??

Anyone have any insight....cuz a big body like his seems like would be a good fit even on our deep and talented team.

Just a question. Not fretting his lose....we are still CUP capable. just curious.

Go Hawks...this next series will be a doozy!!!

Did I miss something? Reading thru it appears the Hawks have already won the cup. I know I have been busy, but wow...whens the parade?

Look at all the victory laps...amazing...

Hayes was never "with us". The Hawks had his rights, but he played for Boston College. Hayes opted to become a free agent, rather than sign with the Hawks.

Sad, sad day.

Riley B. King - Memphis Blues Boy - BB King - one of the greatest American guitarists and musicians - and one of the last of his generation - died at 89.

The thrill is gone - for sure.

Yes Sir, the thrill is gone and it is a sad day indeed. I saw BB King three times, once in the 70's as a teenager with my Dad when I didn't appreciate BB King or the music and wanted it to be over as soon as it began. Once in the 80's when I started to get it, and I took my Dad in the 90's when I loved the music and Mr. King as much as my Dad.

Win some, lose some. Hayes chose, for whatever reason, to pursue free agency rather than sign with the Hawks. This wasn't the fault of anyone in the Hawks organization. Sure Hayes would look good in a Hawk uniform but it's wather under the bridge. Hopefully the Hawk can go on and win the cup and make Mr. Hayes wonder if he made the right move.

That music was an acquired taste for me also. But I saw BB King twice when he was older and wish I "got it" years before. Mayor of Bluesville, good night.

Did you ever take in BB King's Blues Club on Beale St. in Memphis?

My daughter when to school there. I ate a lot of Ribs and Southern Fried catfish in that place.

Ahhh. Right. I forgot that he was one of those college guys. makes sense now. I guess hawks COULD have tried to sign him earlier, but perhaps they just couldn't settle on a contract. Thanks for clearing that up. Now, on to the Ducks!!!

My daughter got us to take her to Nashville and Memphis but never saw him there. I too loved the BBQ there, but man the portions were totally out of control. A platter for two at one BBQ joint in Nashville came on a lined garbage can lid and included 10 half cobs of corn, 10 corn bread muffic, the whole lid full of fries, a rack of ribs, 4 pork chops, pulled pork, beef brisket, beans and cole slaw. My wife and I could barely finish a quarter of it.

Did your daughter go there on a scholarship?

The Hawks were 2-1 against the Ducks, outscored them 8-3 and oushot them like 135-81, something like that. Because they are superior possession team. And that's all there is to it. Hawks in 6.
Yawwwwwwwwwn.

so because it doesnt support the blackhawks narrative, it doesnt matter. so now in this scenario a 3 game sample is more important than a 9 game sample against similar competition. picking and choosing...as always.

She went there on a full ride golf scholarship and stayed another 2 years and did her Master's on a scholarship from the school. She never wanted to leave, absolutely loves Memphis.

Couple times a year she and I used to go on a Friday night to watch the Memphis River Kings play in that Southern League that Scott Darling played in - $8 tickets, what a hoot. She got a kick out of that article Damien Cox wrote a couple weeks ago about Darling and his struggles and the kid from Sudbury who helped get him sober when they were playing in Memphis.

Memphis also has a real nice little ballpark downtown where the Redbirds play. A bit of a dumpy city but lots to do there.

I sent her the article Damien Cox wrote about Scott Darling

Bottom line is every year around this time, people like yourself come onto the Hawks board to say that X is a bigger team, and that the Hawks will get hit and worn down over time and eventually lose the series. How did that work for LA and Boston in 2013? How did it work for the St. Louis and almost LA again in 2014?

The Hawks regular season numbers aren't as telling as how the Hawks have preformed as of late. Their team defense is finally clicking and this is probably a deeper team at forward than in 2013, IMO.

Can the Hawks still lose? Definitely. Ducks will not be easy, but as of right now, the Hawks are really hitting their stride so I really can't see the Ducks winning 4 against this team.

You've really left me no choice, since you refuse to read the blog and about 10 comments where I not only cite pretty much al the statistics, but ask you to cite yours.

So, I will summarize one mote time:

Regular season possession stats (5 different ways), special teams, GF, GA, head to head, who scored head to head, goalies head to head, and yes, I even cite the Duck power play and goaltending in the playoffs.

The playoffs however, are a tiny sample size, more than nine times smaller than the regular season, and only involves two teams, two different teams than Chicago faced.

Further, we saw how flawed playoff stats are when Minnesota got blitzkrieged in round 2.

So it is you who is being selective. And you who are trolling and earlier in the thread overtly disrespecting the blogger, and still playing the same game.

So this is where it ends. See ya.

i have no problem with that whatsoever. ive never once said the ducks are a lock to win this series despite what everyone here wants to think. this blogger though and many on this board are downright dismissive of the ducks, and poo poo any stat that shows why the ducks have just as good of a chance to win the series.

youve th rown around more names and disrespect than anyone else in this blog, so get off your high (frank)in horse bro.

as ive tried to explain, i dont care about regular season stats when it comes to a prediction. 3 of the 82 games were against the ducks. every other game is against different competition on different nights with different circumstances. they dont mean anything to me. its a short playoff series where anything can happen, with 2 teams that are pretty stacked. thats all there is to it.

and stop with the minnesota stuff...i dont know a single person who picked the wild to win that series. theres a reason they got in as a wild card and had to go on a ridiculous 2nd half run to do it. smoke and mirrors.
