the only goalie in these playoffs that means more to his team and is the difference between winning and losing is the king....that guy puts his team on his great big pads and carry them...
yet ya still got to score and the rangers will have trouble again doing that vs bishop.... |

orpik is classless jag bag...but (frank) him and team mates they once again blow a 3-1 lead...
this team with ovie will never win a damn thing.... - bogiedoc
Alzner iced the puck twice in a row. Lose the faceoff and boom its over.
Ovi is what he is, a shooter. Can't blame it on him.
Capitals did a number on the Ranger defence group, they have to be banged up big time. Hope they have to go another 7 games vs Tampa. |

Chris Block reports only 1,780 in attendance tonight in Rockford.
I know mid week games are lower, but that number is surprising.
3-1 Rockford with about 10 min. left in 3rd. - ArlingtonRob \
Mid week games are an issue as are playoffs in total in the AHL...but still not a good turnout.

I don't believe in "bulletin board material" in any of the pro games: does anyone really think the Rags were so pissed at Ovechkin's comment that they played harder or focused more?
He had the balls to comment - he scored their only goal - only a missed assignment on the Hayes goal kept it from being the game-winner.
I like Ovechkin - plays hard, usually plays well, crosses the line sometimes, but not a butcher/goon - has enough confidence to make the comment. He had a helluva season.
Millbury was right a minute ago, when asked what he learned from this game - he said it made him remember how great a game hockey is. - StLBravesFan
that's not the point sage...i agree with you they rangers didn't try harder cuz of the comments...but it's just stupid and foolish to state winning guarantees when you can't control a damn thing other than how you play...and that's tough enough...

I have 1 word for you PHOTOSHOP amigo - rubberduckies
Lol you really are delusional
You are in denial I get it.
I've been a fan almost as long as your pathetic team has been around
And your right I photo shopped all those signatures on the jersey.
Blake and Robitaille I found photos of them in that exact pose.

From what I heard Ovi say...it was a borderline guarantee, but whatever...
...I fully expect players to suggest that victory is likely., and the media played it wayyyy up.
So be it, on to the next foe. |

Ovi's ice time got shortened by a bunch of stupid penalties and icings by his teammates.
Caps probably blew the series losing the 5th game like they did.

In tonight's Icehog 4-1 win McNeill, Hartman, Johns and Abbott (EN) scored. Johns also assisted on Hartman's goal. |

So the Rags are the winners. Great game to watch. Hard to call the Caps losers, they played hard and well. |

Agreed. Caps came in to game five and played what many called a smart road game but i saw them sit back and play a 1-3-1 and wait for the Rags to make a mistake. Rags live on close games. Gotta attack them. Their D isnt physical. I also think the Caps ran out of gas by that pt after a combined 700 hits in their series vs the islanders. Curious to see the hit numbers in this series. I picked Tampa to go to the finals before the season started. Im not going to change. I think they are a balances team with a good offense, solid D and a goalie who is getting better as the playoffs progress. They were 3-0 vs the Rags in the regular season. |

Just wow - grinder10
Don't want to burst your bubble, but there were 4 Hogs on the ice for McNeill's goal. Cody Bass was in the box for 5 minutes...Charging Major.
Look closely at the replay....4 Hogs. Eli must have gotten an early start with some tailgating.
Box score also shows only the Bass penalty during the McNeill goal.
Svedberg x-checking minor at 16:10 was the next penalty. |

You're correct. Lack of sleep and a misleading twitter headline lead to that. |

JJ, not sure why but you don't discuss the impact Kesler will have on Kane as his foil... Nothing Kesler likes more than the playoffs and this challenge should bring the best out of him if he's healthy... Remember he is a Selke trophy winner.
You say Kane is the difference maker, I agree. How well the Kane/ Kesler match up favors either team will play a big part in this series...
I think you need to factor that into your analysis. |

"Generally speaking, you have to place greater weight on regular season records and head-to-head matchups."
So by your statistical analysis. How did the Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 record vs the Los Angeles Kings in the 2013-14 regular season help with your prediction for last years WCF? - nurk
Good point. But that's regular season record only. I'd have to go back and look at the regular season stats. |
