Team Canada looks pretty strong. Not sure Ovi will help much, especially if he reverts back to his former self, he of the 5 minute long stand around do nothing shift. - paulr

No, that was one of Ovi's -35s he earned last year. When I saw that it infuriated me that he got even one Hart Trophy vote.
Edit: That play was in a Game 4 loss to the Rangers in last year's playoffs, the eventual game-winner in a 4-3 Rangers win, which makes it even more egregious. |

I disagree. I think the problem in the room is a druggy culture and party atmosphere. There's probably a lot more we don't hear about... The whole Richard/ Carter thing from their Philly days, Stoll drug bust, etc...
That team was legit. - kaptaan
That team was legit, but to me a casual observer the lines were always mis-matched?? Too much power not enough givers to feed the power. |

Yeah he's hurting. I seen it live.
Make him skate to get the puck and when he does right on him. He loves this D style on him and never gets frustrated when D plays him this way.
Now who gets Getz assignment? |

The lines were essentially the same as the cup team last year. The changes were at D but they still had a better group than most of the Pacific. No evidence but the Stoll and Voyonov things lead me to believe there is something going on there. If Lombardi makes a few big moves I'll bet it will be more about chemistry (or removing the chemists) than talent judgments. |

Yeah and if they remove guys who have been previously removed it shows where the commitment is at. I use my fair chances of "getting away" from family, work, business as much as any guy but when it's time to step up you have to do your duty as a man. Take care of your priorities first. Bottom line. But with so much expendable cash it get's more difficult. |

And my personal favorites:
The Ducks were very effective on the rush against Calgary. Enabled by the Flames’ poor puck control and penchant for allowing very loose gaps, Anaheim consistently gained the zone and fired away. That will not be the case against Chicago.
The gaps Calgary allowed the Ducks to operate in were mindboggling.
...and...
For Anaheim to have a prayer of winning, it will need to force Chicago to dump the puck in. But Anaheim is not a team that plays with a rigid defensive structure...
And one more personal observation, the Ducks powerplay has been on fire, but they aren't going to be the beneficiary of Joe Colborne's idiotic penalties this time around... - MartiniMan
Hockey 102, take away time and space and isolate the player with or without the puck. Especially with Perry.

Do we want our top 4 D back together? I think yes against the Quacks.
Does that mitigate the drop off of 5-6 (10-15 mins), me thinks yes. Of course on home ice. - Drgonzo399
Boudreau was playing 3 lines most of the time in round 1 and 2. Even against the Flames Rakell, Jackman, and Etem were getting single digit mins. If he keeps that up playing the 7/2 and 4/27 shouldn't be that difficult. Run KimmoBlad out in spot duty. |
