I drop in here and there when things come up online or in the news that gets me wanting to talk Sabres and hockey in general with other (mostly) smart folks.

Living in Iowa.. there are not many people that know SQUAT about hockey... they just go back and forth between wearing Blackhawks or Kings gear each year. Couldn't even name 3 guys on a team.

I found out yesterday that I'm going to have to go out to NYC next month for work for a few days. Not super happy about it but it is what it is.

Look at it this way - there are worse things than having someone foot the bill for a few days in NY. Get some great Italian while you're there, I can recommend a couple places.

It's not like I'm going to get to do much while I'm there. I'll probably have to fly in early one day, go straight to the office and work til 5, then have the evening to myself. Work the next day and then get on a flight to come home that night. Then doing all the expense reports and stuff is a huge hassle.

I have to drive a friends car down to NYC for them in a few weeks and then immediately getting on a plane to come home.

The more I've been thinking why not get ROR? Just going by the odds not all of our prospects will be stars. He plays a 200 foot game and will allow Eichel to play second line. With all these picks in this coming draft you can restock the system. Similar to kane and ?babcock? i'm not concerned with overpaying because we can. We're already finding that there's not enough room for Grigs, Gus, Larrson, Marcus, Hodgson.

If I actually can get some time to enjoy myself while I'm there, I won't be so irritated about it. But the way they have us plan these things doesn't leave much room to do anything.

I don't mind Des Moines. Have a friend in Prarie City too. Talk about tiny.

Rochester to start, but he's in falls in the same category, there's only so many spots. It doesnt have to be ROR. But a young top 6 player would be huge. With Bailey, baptiste, Compter and fasching coming with more picks this year it may be time to pull the trigger and establish a top 6

I find a gem here and there. Saw a guy in a Nucks jersey at the gym and had the most intelligent conversation I've had in months about prospects and players.

Not that it has to be ROR, but i agree, in next few years the trades will come. I just think of Puke Adam and try and remind myself even a few solid nhl games wont guarantee a prospect is a star.

My apologies, hahah didnt have to be ROR, But there's only so many spots and it may be time to cash in on prosects before they turn in luke adam. It is risky but at least you find a for sure top 6 player
