I think the NHL needs to clean up it's on-ice rulings. The technology is totally there to make sure a puck crossed the line, offsides, etc. Why invest money when you don't have to i guess?.....

The first thing the NHL needs to do with officiating is be consistent. A penalty in the 1st period should be a penalty in the 3rd period. Make the players play by the same set of rules the whole game, rules shouldn't change the longer the game or season goes along.

yeah, that would be a good start. They literally decide games. But all ref's do in all sports, unfortunately. Actually reviewing a refs record and giving them more or less work based on it would be nice.

People want to say it's too harsh on Brady?? Really Tyrelle Pryor got 5 games for a tattoo he got in freaking college not even the NFL. I think the punishment that Brady and the team got are pretty fair considering. Harsh but fair.

The correct answer here is both punishments were ridiculous. Just because the NCAA falls victim to much ado about nothing doesn't mean the NFL should as well.

I think the league finally said enough to the Pats and gave them a somewhat harsh penalty for all the years they have been pissing around side stepping the rules. And to be honest the only thing they will really miss is the first round draft choice, I think Vegas just lowered their estimated win total for next year from 10.5 to 10 and the million dollar fine is laughable for Kraft.

That's a separate point entirely though. I would agree that the NFL/NCAA is a mess as far as what and how they discipline, but if you look at the Brady ordeal as an outsider with no Bills or Patriots bias, you see a team once again in the middle of a scandal involving a competitive advantage.

They needed to do this to them.

I don't know. I just don't see it as a big deal, at all. Like I said, I don't feel sorry for Brady or the Patriots. They'll be just fine. I just find the standard as a whole embarrassing.

The Pats got caught cheating for the 2nd time and and didn't cooperate with the investigation. Repeat offender, having disregard for the integrity of the game, especially a championship game, lack of cooperation, lying. I'd say it was fair.

They love making big trades. We should emulate what the Flyers do. No patience, just trades
- sbroads24

Idk about that
It clearly isn't working for Philly
Although most of the trades they've made are good ones

I think we need to have patience
Make the right trade(s), at the right time

I'm also a little nervous about shipping off multiple good prospects in trades
I know you have to give to get,
But I want Murray to be smart about it

I don't wanna do somethin like trade Zadorov, Baptiste & a 1st for someone risky like O'Reilly.
We should either be "buying low" on guys from Cap strapped teams, or if we are gonna trade a "core" piece like Zadorov, or any of our nice looking prospects, then it better be for a true top line winger who is under contract

"A person familiar with discussions told the AP that the Sabres expect that it'll take Babcock more than a week to make a decision on his future. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks were private.

A person familiar with the Sabres' coaching search previously told the AP that former San Jose Sharks coach and Wings assistant Todd McLellan and minor league coach Luke Richardson also are candidates for the Buffalo job."

We haven't interviewed McClellan or Richardson yet, have we?
As far as reports go...
I don't remember seeing that we've talked to anyone yet, besides Babcock

It's pretty tough to hide anything now-a-days

If the Oilers hire McClellan,
I'd say the Babcock race is between us & Detroit
Maybe Minnesota or StLouis get in the race
Philly & Toronto have NO chance IMO
And as talented as the Sharks are, they aren't built or the playoffs. I doubt Babcock goes there

What's been bugging me all along though...
How are we better off than Detroit?
They have a lot of good young talent. Both on the team, and coming up.
Two pretty good goalies as well.
Only thing they're missing is defense.
But they're already good enough to be in the playoffs.

Over under Hodgson scores 30 points next season
- TheSabresTaco

If we don't bring in a top6 winger, I think he gets 1st crack at it
I'd say that gets him back to 20+ goals, 50pts
The kid is talented,
And had been improving his offense every year before this past one with Nolan
I fully expect a bounce back year for him
Even if he's on the 3rd line,
I'd still say 15goals & 35+ points

I just wish the whole cheating in sports thing would just go away. I used to love baseball. Then big money and Sosa/McGwire and Bonds happened. It'll never be the same to me. Football is a bunch of convicts. At least with hockey, for the most part it's still clean. Sure there are some issues that pop up here and there but it's still respectable.

Eff the Pats. And eff the frigging Sen's.

- Pairo11

Dude's have been cheating in that sport since the beginning of time.

16 stitches, a shot, and an extra pad. He'll be back in before the 2d period is over.

Am I the only one that thinks Brady being suspended for the week 2 game puts all the pressure on the Bills to win?

If it comes down to a toss up on young talent either he will take the big money offer from T-Pegs or he will stick with what he knows in Detroit. 100% the Sabres monetary offer will dwarf the Wings offer.

Who says Murray wants to keep these young players that still aren't ready.
