Deboer nearly ruined Adam Larssons NHL career. Thank god the Devils fired him because once Scott Stevens took over the defense Adam Larsson looked like a #4 overall pick again. Kid started playing top minutes for us against top lines and had a nice stretch of offense to end the year on a good note. If the team that hires PDB is ready for a playoff run full of veterans, then it could work similar to the Devils cup run that featured only 3 youngins in Larsson (who only played 1 playoff game and scored one of the biggest goals for us that post season vs the flyers) Henrique and Josefson. If there is one thing PDB ISNT…its a coach that can develop talent.
That being said, he wasn't the season we sucked, but he didn't help our cause by not playing Larsson and Josefson. Hell for a stretch of the season PDB played Henrique third line while zajac ended the season with 25 points playing first line with cammalleri every night |
