Idk
He's a good backup
I wouldn't want him as our starter, not long term anyways
He did play above expectations last year for us

- jdfitz77

Were they though?

Worst numbers of his career, he goes to Dallas, and put up a marginally better sv% but improved gaa by 0.89.

IMO he's a much better goalie than most will ever give him credit for. Nowhere close to elite but if he were an everyday starter he'd slot in that 16-21 range and a guy that can get you a playoff birth.

Yes, by all means, let's give the edmonton "3 1st overall forwards and now a generational center" oilers Zads and Pysyk. Fvck it, give 'em the other first and throw in Foligno too.

It's not just about giving too much up and being a terrible deal for us, you have to understand how much you'd be helping the oilers here.

- Herzeleid

I understand it's giving up a lot.

Like I said, the question is how much better is McDavid. I believe Hawerchuk said McDavid skates like Orr, has the vision of Gretzky and the hands of Lemiuex (and he didn't mean Claude). How good is Eichel going to be? As good as Tavares or Stamkos? Maybe better, maybe not. I don't know.

You may also want to consider the "McDavid effect." UFAs will want to play in Buffalo with McDavid on the team. And players with NTCs or partial NTCs would probably waive their rights to play in Buffalo with McDavid. Would Eichel have the same effect? Maybe, maybe not.

For the record, I'm not hell bent on bending over backwards to get McDavid. But if a fair deal can be reached, I say go for it. But if Murray can't get a deal done that he likes and we draft Eichel, that's cool. I'm totally on board and looking forward to this team getting better.

Interesting days ahead. Can't wait for draft day.

If they want Reinhart and that allows Buffalo to keep #2, I'd almost say do it........almost.

The people in Edmonton would riot though.

It's too much with either Reinhart or Eichel.

I see I started a bit of controversy which was not my intent. To clarify if you didn't read my back and forth with 89 and Magus, it's framework right now not the definitive offer. Sorry for upsetting people. If I get more info from him I'll post it. Again sorry for upsetting some.

It didn't upset me. I'm glad you posted it as it gives some insight into what is happening behind the scenes. Any trade involving us moving up to No. 1 is going to create some heated comments between those who like the deal and those who think it's giving up too much.

Please keep us posted.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!!!!!!!

WTF where you raised in a bubble?

Don't bother with the 3rd one if you do buck up and watch them.

- dadeadhead

My oldest has some "All about Dad" book thing she got somewhere and it had a page about my favorite things. The old lady helped her with some, but favorite song, food and movie were still blank so she was asking me.

I kept quizzing the wife and she never answered right, but I said movie would be Godfather. That said...3 is horrible

Hey guys just got off phone with my buddy who works at FNC. He told me Pegula and Murray are going to make a heavy push for #1 overall. Players being thrown in are pretty significant. As I always say when relaying what I hear from him, please take with a grain of salt as he isn't always 100% accurate so don't shoot the messenger! The offer as he has heard:

Edmonton:
#1 Overall

Buffalo:
Pysyk
Zadorov/Ristolainen (choice of 1)
Foligno
#2 Overall
NYI 1st

First time I have talked to him since leaving WNY or I would have said something sooner. Again he is not the best "source" but he has gotten some things right in the past, grain of salt please!

- Orphen22

This would be a huge mistake! But I'm not surprised to hear this, especially after Murray's comments following the lottery.

I really hope we just stand pat and take Eichel - would really be disappointed in Murray if we gave up so much to move up one friggin spot!

I keep seeing stories pop up that Compher has announced he's staying at Mich. He was a sophomore. Staying is not a story. Leaving would be.

Like I said almost.

Walking away with both McDavid and Eichel is really really tempting though.

Man I remember this one time... when I was a kid... I saw a real buffalo in Yellowstone.. thing was huge. Like the dominant bull was 9 feet tall easy... it was crash. ... just wanted to share that. It was hella cool.

I'd do that 100%, then package a centre or two to replace the d-men you just lost.

I doubt Edmonton makes that trade if it's Zadorov. I'd consider it if so. It's a risk, but I still can't bring myself to dismiss the fact that McDavid has done more in big games than Eichel has. The lack of those kinds of players is what has got this team into this mess in the first place.

I really hope not. Eichel will be a fantastic player. Giving up such a huge slab of depth for a position we already have covered is a massive mistake. On top of that, giving up a potential elite defenseman is also awful. Just stay with Eichel damn it.

You're most likely right.

Every year we hear news about how the team with the #1 overall is willing to trade the first pick, or is hearing offers, or whatever the popular rhetoric of the season happens to be. And every year nothing happens. With a generational player like McDavid, the chances go from zero to negative, unless, of course, he pulls an Eric Lindros, John Elway, or Eli Manning.

Stryper is unreal, period. Michael Sweet is one of the best vocalists out there in that style. Saw them last summer. Been a fan since Soldiers Under Command.

My sister loved Stryper, she had their posters all over her wall.

I love me some hair band rock, but that stuff is for chicks.

It's a no brainer, you do that all day long if you can get both 1st and 2nd pick. I doubt it hapoens.
