What if the trade was the same except for instead of giving up Risto/Zads we gave up Reinhart? If there is one team that doesn't really need to draft a generational forward it's probably the Oilers. Then the Sabres get McDavid and keep Risto and Zads, the Oilers get their #2 center, Foligno, a top-4 D in Pysyk, the #21 overall and the #2 pick which they could use on Hanafin if they still wanted D, and the Yotes get Eichel. They call that a win-win-win where I come from.

They need more than just 1 Dman though. So I think the fact that there would be 2 guys they could slot into their top 4 D in the trade is why they would do it.

While I'd love McDavid in general, I still stand by my comments from way earlier this season that I think Eichel is actually a better fit for the type of team that Murray has been building. He's a more physical player than McDavid. I just wish that when he was playing in big games he was more of a factor. Hopefully that changes.

I definitely like what I've seen from him in the current tournament though. He's gotten better each game. He's definitely ready for the NHL.
