OK. Just pointing out the inherent hypocrisy in calling someone juvenile for enjoying Star Wars, while simultaneously collecting comic books

Anyways, carry on with calling us all idiots for not agreeing with 100% of your misguided claims. I'll await my next ban

- AxlRose91

Hey, I'll always tell you if I call for your ban. It's happened maybe three times in 400 odd posts.

But, I don't think you really got this, but I was gently mocking, also known as a joke.

I see you on here daily, so you'd think you would get by now that I put a sense of humour into nearly every post or comment.

Nationalism in and of itself is not such a bad thing. It's okay to take pride in your country because it gives you a reason to want to a) stay in it and b) protect it if need be.

Where the danger comes from is the forced jingoism ("you're not a real American if you don't fly a flag" or "God Bless America should be sung at every sporting event" or similar pressures) that pervades our societies today. At that point you're bordering on accepted social fascism, or in action movie terms, you're either with us or against us. That kind of stuff is both sad and frightening, and it's probably the primary reason that those who hate America around the world do so with such vehemence.

- Sandus

Solid and much more nuanced version of the point I was trying to make. Thanks.

That's not really an insult. So would I.

Honestly, just the fact you had to decide between my blogs and the greatest sci-fi adventure of all times is pretty complimentary and I thank you.

Just because a lot of people all feel the same way, or because something is popular or has always been that way, doesn't make it right. In fact, it probably makes it stupid.

I fully agree that most Canadians care about Canada being superior to the States but I find that POV disgusting and immature. Not to mention boring.

do you feel that Mericans that claim to be superior are disgusting, immature and boring?

“Coyotes can trigger exit clause after $50M in collective losses are claimed. They’ll likely eclipse threshold this yr, bankers say. Coyotes will report 2014-15 losses to Glendale by Sept. If team wants out, it pays city $50M fee, LESS city’s take from revenue sharing. In 2013, Glendale city council voted 4-3 to pass deal w/ PHX. Since, 2 councillors who endorsed deal resigned. 1 who opposed voted out. Glendale pays PHX $15M/yr to manage rink. City avoids HR expenses, employee benefits bill, gets $7M-$9M/yr in rev share deal.”

They won't. They have such a sweetheart deal, and I believe losses may be inflated due to the change of ownership although that is speculation. I don't think it's realistic for them to lose 50 million per year. They also tanked the season after Christmas, ruining attendance and costing money. They paid (i think) the maximum amount of retained salary possible. They bought out Ribiero, which was hugely expensive.

Plus, two ownership changes and whatever it costs to do that/ change things to the way you want them.

There's a lot of deals in place with sponsors that will bring in more revenue from now on (they may or may not have begun paying dividends; I don't know when these deals take effect or when the fiscal year runs )

Also, the owners have been very forthcoming and active in speaking to fans, etc. So I don't really think the sky is falling here. People are quick to latch on to the outclause and the total money lost, but I think it's a little more complicated.

No real reason to panic or even be negative, things look better now than they have for years.

Part of the reason we're purchasing a place down there is the professional sports scene, I'd hate for them to leave...lets hope you're right!!
