Fans would never allow it.

It's like redoing the Godfather. (Yep, all you dago-loving tortellinis, I went there).

I mean they do it for Batman, Spiderman, Superman,
is it really such a crime if they do it for Star Wars?

Batman (though wicked cool), Spidey and the like are NOT Star Wars!

Honestly, I think Lucas would never allow it.

Supposedly as part of the deal with Disney, Lucas has no say in what is done with the Star Wars Franchise.

Also, if they can get away with remaking Star Trek, they can definitely get away with remaking Star Wars. Fortunately, with a new trilogy coming out, we are light years away from that.

Good maybe they'll remake the first ones then

but my guess this new Star Wars is probably going to be like 5 movies probably?

Actually, 20th Century Fox owns the rights to the first 6. The first one forever, apparently. The other 5 until 2020.

The next three films are based on what Lucas has written for them.

"In October 2012, The Walt Disney Company agreed to buy Lucasfilm and announced that Star Wars Episode VII would be released in 2015. Later, it was revealed that the three new upcoming films (Episodes VII-IX) would be based on story treatments that had been written by George Lucas prior to the sale of Lucasfilm."

You may be right. And as a fan, I'll give it a chance if it ever came to that.

I just hope it doesn't.

All of those movies combined don't have the nostalgia the original Star Wars trilogy has.

They will never remake them. Lucas will never allow it and I'd bet that was in the deal when he sold the rights to Disney.

That being said, I could see Hugh Jackman being a good Han Solo (hides).

3 but I wanna say its based on a series of 12.

A new movie will come out every 3 years so we are at least 18 years from any remake thought.

Without Star Wars you don't get those.

You need to sit down and watch the originals the way they came out in order to have an appreciation for what they did back in the late 70's early 80's for special effects.

The guy that made the video I posted that started this whole conversation begs for the original theatrical version to be released on Blu-Ray in just about every other video he puts out.

And I agree with him.

Remaster it in HD and give us back our childhood.

They ruined them IMO.
