You forgot Blake Wheeler and next is mike reilly
- gerbe75pts

So, 3 players did it. Not saying it doesn't happen. But that's 3 players in 7 years. Wheeler didn't want to go to Arizona. Who the hell could blame him. Anaheim tried to stiff Shultz, and Chicago wouldn't let Hayes play in the NHL. All 3 were clearly ready for the NHL. It happens, yes, and out of the 3 I'd consider Wheeler to be the only one out of the 3 to be a star of some sorts. It's hardly the problem you're blowing it up to be.

It's not just about trying. He produces as well. You don't see many 2-way players who put up 55-60 points every season. Add in the fact he takes very few penalties and has never had a season where he didn't win over 50% of the draws he's taken and I don't get why you dislike the idea so much.

I think everyone agrees that ROR is a pretty good player.
It's the contract situation
If the AVs trade him, it's BC they couldn't agree to a reasonable contract with him.
Which means we'd have to overpay him to keep him from testing Free Agency.

I don't like that idea at all

Let's just say he's a guy that Murray really wants though...
I think there's a very good chance he hits free agency
Let's just overpay for him then & not have to give up Zadorv, Larsson & a 1st
(Or whatever it'll cost)

he is afraid they are going to walk

the team will be ready to compete for the playoffs in 16-17 when they are ready to sniff the nhl

we have one of the richest owners

team will have 2 dynamic young centers

yet he is scared

- homiedclown

You could say all of that about Columbus and Mike Reilly is about to walk.

I think it's certainly possible it happens to us but I don't rate any of our current college guys high enough for it to really bother me if they did leave.

Right? It's not something to "worry" about until we're facing the situation. Even then, so be it. Odds are highly against it though. Highly.

Because it's not at all out of the question for a prospect to "take a step backwards" numbers-wise while he works on "completing" his game.

not with Henry
- homiedclown

My "Henry" was a guy named "George." His room was all dark as hell with tapestries everywhere, and under his bed, he used to keep this tray from Ponderosa Steak House where he would store his stash and separate out all the stems and seeds.

Really late one night in 1984, George told me he had a nice chunk of dynamite hash up there. We were already poisoned, and it was a bad decision to go for more, but he takes me up there, loads up this big moist looking hunk into the bong, and lights me up. I'm pulling and pulling and pulling, but I cant get the (frank)ing bowl to light up.

I check it again, and say, "Jesus Christ, George, this isn't hash, it's just (frank)ing mud." It was just (frank)ing mud. Bed Time for Kaiser.

I was in this half assed frat. The frat always appointed two guys to these special positions, "The Witch Doctor" whose job it was to be all crazy and try to take guys beyond their comfort zone, and "The Good Doctor" who could be counted on, no matter how big the buzz was, to bring guys back in from beyond their comfort zone.

George was the Witch Doctor in 1984.

By 1986, I became the Good Doctor.

Fox NFL predicts Tyrod Taylor will start Week 1. I'll hang up and listen.
- TheSabresTaco

I am pulling for him to win it. Very athletic quartberack, which might be a need behind a young unknown line, and although he hasn't put up numbers or done anything significant, he has a pretty decent arm. My buddy is a huge Ravens fan and always thought Taylor showed some potential, just was always going to be in flacco's shadow. There is a reason Denver chased him hard as well(learn from manning and maybe takeover)

He's progressing nicely and another year will do him good.

Expected him to make a jump offensively this past year but didn't.

Holy frank did you know the refs decide what not to call and the league can't do anything about it?? Ugh

As most of you know I am a college official (at least until I moved to Florida). So I am a fan of Stewarts blogs. This Prust incident is bringing out the most outrageous comments I have heard.

My favorite: the majority of it is Refs took over and decided what they will call vs. not call.

Yes because the league would just sit by and let their employees not follow their rules.

You think every NHL official is a rogue official and does what he wants.
