Johnson really doesn't matter. One year left. I believe his deal is for something in the neighborhood of 1.35 million. Put him in the minors, only cost 450k on the cap, and you can bring in two goalies you want .
- ImNoTroll

I'm sure that's an option, but don't we want Makarov playing alot? Wonder if Kasdorf signs a pro deal.

Johnson is probably sweatin' bullets.

Even with Johnson in the AHL, no guarantee he gets the starts there, honestly surprised if he does.

I think the question is how many RFAs/UFAs we bring back? I got the over/under at 4.

Mak could be another 2 years away depending on who we have next season. Maybe even 3. Could be right about the time we would know what hes got.

I'm sure this theoretical logjam in goal will sort itself out. Lots of promise. Lots of questions.

Seems like everyone you ask has a different opinion on who our future goalie is.

If we believe that beady eyed little douche, our goalie isn't in the organization currently.

The thing is, if Girgensons is a lfetime 3rd line center, and excels at it, he could become really valuable. If he suffers from "Stahl's disease" and wants to be first liner somewhere (like O'Rilley) we could lose him to overpayment down the road.
It seems like guys who play 2nd/3rd line center are always lookng to slot up and hit payday. girgensons seems to be the kind of guy to take pride in what ever role he's given. But agents do a lot of whispering in players ears.....

- seedy

That's a problem I'll worry about when it actually happens
For now...
The only team that will end up better down the middle than us is the stupid Oilers
I'd give McDavid, RNH & Draisaitl a slight edge

He's going to get that or something close to it, I know Murray like's him but that doesn't mean he's 100% coming here. I would like it to be around 6 a year but who's to say. I'm sure we can get 2 other players with what it would cost to pay ROR.
- SABRES 89

Reinhart seems like a better scoring version of him
And Girgensons seems like a more physical version
Like I said, I really like ROR as a player...
That contract situation just scares me to death
And we prob have to give up quite a bit to win the bidding war for him too
Let the Leafs trade Phaneuf or Kessel for him
Then they can over pay him

If the Sharks start blowing it up,
I've always like Pavelski quite a bit

Goalie predictions.

2nd rounder to Kings for Martin Jones (shut your hole, 89! Let me have this!).

Re-sign Neuvirth.

- grand-magus

Neuvirth sounded pissed when he got traded
I doubt he's back

I do know for a FACT that Enroth will return if he's offered a contract

I hope it's not Jones that we get
Not that he can't be good. It's just tht every goalie for the Kings looks good. And I haven't seen enough from him to think he can be a franchise goalie somewhere.
I wouldn't hate it
But I'd much prefer someone else
Bernier, Vasilevskiy, Allen, Gibson... To name a few
Jack Campbell looked pretty darn good for teamUSA today as well

At the cost of a 2nd rounder, I wouldnt mind gambling on Jones, low risk high reward move.

Gotta stop adding 3rd line players if we want to improve, adding ROR is a step in that direction. you want Pavelski but don't want to give up for ROR ?

We have enough 3rd and 4th line players we need good players take the next step, enough with the Phil Varrone type players.

True
But I'm assuming we wouldn't then also make a move for one of the other guys I've mentioned

Where did I say that ? you don't want ROR and what it will take to pay him and or trade for him but you want Pavelski ? he will cost more.

Bc u said
"Gotta stop adding 3rd line players"
Pavelski is signed for 4 more years I believe
Which is a HUGE factor why I don't want ROR
It's not the PLAYER,
It's the contract
Although I wish Pavelski was 28 instead of 30
He's averaging 39goals & 75pts the past 2yrs though, so he's far from done

Pavelski is a pipe dream, ROR is more reality, not 100% but closer then Pavelski.

Maybe...
But two in the group I mentioned?
I guess that would make sense if Murray could make the deals
Let them fight it out

But signing Lindback, Neuvirth, Enroth, etc doesn't really count IMO as getting a goalie
None of those guys have "Franchise Goalie" potential IMO

If we could get ROR @ 6 mil per... I'd be ok with that, as long as we don't have to give up Risto or Zads

Goalies are a strange breed... Many people thought the same about Bishop, but look at him now! Lindback with a solid team in front of him could be just good enough to get the job done.

Idk if he has a ntc,
But if SJ wants to make changes they might have to trade someone they don't really want to
Thornton & Marleau have refused to waive to be traded
Maybe they'd reconsider for the right situation...
But where would that be?
It will be very interesting to see what the Sharks try to do this summer

I'm sure the AVS will do everything they can to keep him, I know Murray wants him but hard to say what it will take to get him. I'm sure it will cost our other 1st we have this year ++.

Other teams might offer more, the Leafs will sell there souls for a player.

The Sharks seem lost but IMO they won't move Pavelski or Couture.

Maybe
He did look good for us, but that was a small sample size. And he looked brutal for quite a while before that.
If he's here as a backup I'd be fine with it
But I want us to get someone who as least appears like they can be our #1 for the future

I'm not a fan
He's ok, but I don't see him as a true #1 goalie
Also, he turns 29 this summer
I'd rather have Bernier at 26
Or one of the younger guys that are currently backing up or splitting time

Martin Jones is not a starter, neither is Robyn Lehner. Pass on both
