Yeah, and 10 others teams will be looking to sign him at that time as well. Beat the rush.

He said he's not gonna sign with any one till cleared so it was going to be a bidding war no matter what

there is no bidding war

"Collins went from likely getting a contract with nearly $10 million guaranteed to now getting a a rookie minimum, non-guaranteed contract (~$400,000) and a very small signing bonus -- last year the signing bonus allotment for undrafted free agents was $80,362 per TEAM. As a financial comparison, Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict -- who fell from the draft due to off-field red flags -- signed for the $390,000 rookie minimum and a $1,000 signing bonus in 2012."

"According to Connor Orr of NFL.com, the Giants were among the teams “thinking” about Collins during the draft, but scouting director Marc Ross says New York wasn’t going to take that type of risk. Additionally, the Bills GM Doug Whaley says his club won’t consider Collins as a UDFA, calling the entire situation “too cloudy” right now (Twitter link via Joe Buscaglia of WKBW)."

So on Baptiste...he's put up a ton of points playing alongside McDavid...anybody see him live...can he eventually round into a top 6 winger for the Sabres. Thoughts?
- siket71

I personally think he has a ceiling of RW2 or at the least RW3 on a scoring 3rd line. I believe the Sabres are aiming at 3 scoring lines as opposed to two, so he would be a quality fit. I think he's also going to have to have wing flexibility, as there's Compher, Fasching and Bailey all vying for positions on RW in 2016 and beyond. I see two of those 4 guys playing for the Amerks at least 2 years, and the other two pushing for spots in 16. Gionta will be gone in two years, Hodgson, who the hell knows, and none of those guys will be brought in to fill the fourth line. That's a prime spot for a guy like Erik Condra to fill. RW1 will likely have to be filled via trade. So you have Ennis at RW2 and a bunch of guys fighting to fill RW3. That's where I see Murray including one or two of those RW prospects to move up for a RW1.

He's a bit slow for an NFL TE, but he has great hands, toughness, and he's an exceptional blocker.

Lee Smith who can probably be Chandler-effective. If that's how he pans out, phenomenal 6th round pick.

Would you rather have TE Eric Ebron (most likely last year's pick) and the 19th pick this year to draft a offensive lineman?

Or a game changer in Sammy Watkins!!

Option one.

They gave up too much for Watkins and could have got a very good WR later.

I'm thrilled with Sammy!

Can't wait till the man plays a season without a nagging injury in the preseason taking an edge from his game. Even with that, he was log-jammed with the other talented Receivers, and is there really any doubt he had the WORST Quarterback of ANY of them?

People will be eating crow when Sammy Watkins begins to show why he is a major step above his fellow receivers from 2014, watch and Smile Buffalo, you have a Top-Notch Receiver.

Please, all haters, raging about not having a QB, don't complain about something unless you have an answer to how they were supposed to pick one up. We are certainly not alone in the league as MOST Teams don't have an Elite, or Great, some have Good, and half the league is in the same spot we are.

When Manning/Brady hang it up, after Arron Rogers & Andrew Luck, who are your elite QBs ????

I want Tim Murray to go after, either or BOTH :

MARK STONE (22yrs old) Love this guy!

Teresenko (Offer Sheet this STAR Goal Scorer!)

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Hurricanes, goal scorer with concussion issues, Jeff Skinner! (Only 22yrs old and could be a game changer.....

They are both great targets. So great it begs the question, why would their respective teams move them?

Maybe, we still would have had to trade up for Evans, and I don't think Beckham will sustain what he did last year.

I also think Watkins is head and shoulders better than Kalvin Benjamin

If you have a Rivers behind center, the trade for Watkins makes sense

They better get a qb next off season if this turns into a 7-9 season

I think the trade is fine, as long as they get the QB within the next couple years. Watkins is going to be one of this era's best receivers IMO

point productions seems to drop each year

I don't think the canes have made the playoffs the 5 years he has been in the league

and he only scored 3 more points then gerbe last season
