The only reason I compare him to kane is that they both have eyes in the back of their heads. Reinhart just knows where everyone is similar to kane.

He is more Sedin with Bergeron defense

The point is that we were the worst on purpose we traded both of our starting goalies and traded for a player who was injured for the remainder of the season.

You don't just plug in 5-7 new players, especially if most of them are basically rookies, and climb 15 places in the standings.

We'll most likely be better than TO and Arizona and possibly NJ or Carolina.

Tell me who, beyond those teams, we will overtake.

Ok yeah I see what you mean. Pat Kane to me is just on another planet. But im hoping if he is surrounded by the right players he can be elite in his own respect

Its not plugging in guys. Its building a new team around the good players we have. Resign stewart and make a trade for a top 6 forward in the offseason and we have a shot. Kane will score 30+ goals and ennis will put up solid numbers again. Our defense has no choice but to improve and wont have AHLers playing solid minutes.

If you judge it by just looking at this years standings then maybe it doesnt make as much sense but try to think how those teams will be next year.

FWIW the Ducks don't have a Norris Trophy candidate on their roster.

I also think Risto and Zadorov could be comparable or better than Fowler and Lindholm. I won't say Vatanen, because he's insane.

Everyone mentioning that the Sabres could be this years Calgary.... Ok sure we do what Calgary did and get 20 points better (77 in 13-14, 97 in 14-15)

That still puts Buffalo in the bottom four of the league.

Calgary didnt try to get 54 points. The sabres did. Not much more to this argument then the fact that the sabres, very blatantly, tried to be bad.

You'll also most likely have the youngest center ice core in the league.

And if you add Pysyk and McCabe to Risto and Zads, you'll have the youngest D in the league, too.

And who plays goal?

Who are you trading for the top 6 forward?

Stewart was here most of the year. Why, all of the sudden, does he come BACK and be a difference maker?

I applaud your optimism. History bets against it.

I don't think they look at resigning Stewart. He wants a top 6 role and I doubt the Sabres will give that to him.

Mccabe wont be on the team to start the season. Reinhart might not either. Lindback put up solid numbers on a terrible team but maybe GMTM has a better option. Trade grigorenko and/or the NYI pick this year. Stewart was good last season, doesnt mean hes going to carry the team, but he hits, fights, and scores occasionally.

If the rumors are true of going hard after O'Reilly, then why would Stewart get top 6 over him? Or Sharp.

I think they have other plans. Maybe if he's still there and nothing works... I think that's Plan H at this point. In my opinion, of course.

Again Calgary only improved by 20 points. Even with 20 additional wins or 40 points, Buffalo still does not make the playoffs.

I think when all is said and done we will look similar to the ducks in a couple years.

Getz=Eichel
Perry=Kane
Kessler=Girgensons

Good young players on Offence and Defense with a few elite players mixed in

Correct, its the playoff version of when people mention the Edmonton Oilers when drafting.

They are both outliers and not the norm.
