If he ends up arrested, headline reads "Buffalo Bills lineman charged"
Right now it would read "Former LSU lineman charged"
The difference is worth it for someone like Terry Pegula
They will wait - sbroads24
That doesn't matter. It really doesn't. It would be different if he was under investigation. The police have said he isn't a suspect. If this story came out today instead of last week someone would have drafted him in the 1st round. |

Yeah, John Smith on the stat sheet looks like a great add. John Smith the money grabber looks like a douche and John Smith's contract is dangerous. |

T.J. Oshie: After yet another first round exit, there could be some shakeups coming in St. Louis. Oshie was involved in previous Blues trade rumors. Imagine uniting the American shootout hero with Eichel, the heir apparent to the USA hockey thrown. That would be a deadly tandem.
Really?

What are you willing to part with for him? I get the feeling Colorado is gonna want either Risto or Zadorov. I wouldn't hate trading Zadorov, but they certainly CANNOT have Risto.
I'd hate trading for him a lot less if it was a sign and trade, but that can't happen until after July 1st. - HonkFortheGoose
I think all along the assumption has been the Isles 1st, Grigs, and Zadorov. I would be reluctant to give that much up unless we were able to get a contract done prior. So if this is a post-draft trade I'd be good with the price. Which is not to say I want to trade those two players. I like what I saw out of Grigs at the end of the season. You have to give to get though. |

It really, really does. Any team in going to be 1000% sure of no wrong doing before they actually offer him a deal.
Hernandez "Wasn't a suspect" for the first 3-4 days of the investigation according to the police.
I believe the kid might be completely innocent, but no team will take the chance until certain |

Then why was Rex eating dinner with the kid last night? Why are the Dolphins bringing him in today? |

I hope so. I don't get the hate some have for him. Every game I've ever seen him play he is always trying his ass off. - Pierceme69
Murray likes him a lot as do other teams, should get interesting |

To let him know they are interested. There is a difference between meeting him and signing him right now.
You can't sign a guy and find out a week later he might have actually had something to do with it. It would be a complete nightmare and would cost Whaley, Rex and others their jobs.
They have to be certain IMO |

Ignoring the fact that John Smith could up and walk after next season...
-Two way ability
-50-60 point player
-52% on faceoffs
-PK,ES,PP
-Decent shooter
-Not physical
-Not a cornerstone player
-ATOI around 19:30
I think he deserves around 5.5-6 million. Basically, the same money as Pommer. |

I'm fairly certain that if he didn't have a quality alibi for the night in question we would know about it by now. |

It's the norm here, why get a mojor player when you can have 3 Gerbe's or Matt Ellis. |

Nobody is going to sign the guy until an arrest is made in that case. |

I like his contract, money and term, and he has the ability to put up 60-70 points. For some reason, players sag on the Bruins. If we like him, we keep and re-sign him. If not, trade him. He wouldn't be that expensive to acquire. And he's a top 6 wing. He also happens to be lighting up the WC. Not that it means THAT much, but he was good before he went to the Bruins. And he's under 30. |

I think a comparable player to John Smith is Patrice Bergeron. He makes $6.5 million. That's where I'd try to peg John Smith. |

You can only go by what the police say. If they say he's not a suspect, are you supposed to just assume the worst about the kid? It's innocent until proven guilty, is it not? |
