Yup it is. I felt I paid too much for my new place, but I also sold the old one for alot more than I thought it was worth. |

Nope, sorry, Burke does not get off that easily.
His #1 centre to play with Kessel was Matt Stajan.
His #1 goalie was Toskala, who had two hip surgeries that off-season, and looked terrible the season before.
And Burke refused to entertain the free agent signing of Cammaleri - who you at least could have shifted to centre and had someone for Kessel to play with.
This was Burke at his worst - allowing his ego to dictate. He came into Toronto and decided to be the guy to fix everything faster than anyone else could - and it ended up burning him.

nah, moreso just typical leafs.
finish just outside of the playoffs for years and years then we finally make a trade that brings in some talent and we completly suck the big one and give away the pick we needed most.
bad assessment by burke but i personally liked that he had the balls to make the trade, odds were leafs were not going to give up a top 5 pick...but a #2, ouch, should have lottery protected that pick. that was his mistake. |
