Morning gents. Thought of the day: bobby ryan is a candidate for worst contact in the league IMO. - clark_griswold
I thought that was Phaneuf and Kessel? |

kessel has a higher hockey 'drive' than Ryan, that says a lot! |

Kessel also has a higher 'hockey IQ' than a potted plant does.. What's your point? |

Traded in my bass last night.
Ended up getting a vintage 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II.
Active pickups, 5-string. In the '80's that was almost unheard of. Only savants would brave those depths.
It's got so much character, I (frank)ing love it |

My best friend's dog walker's cousin has a guy on his darts team whose wife is a real estate agent - she's showing Mrs. Babcock condos in downtown Toronto this afternoon. |

What was the name of that crazy kinda bass that was all the rage for about 5 years in the 80s - basically looked like an anorexic base - you couldn't see the tuning pegs?
What was up with that thing? |

Yes!
What was the deal on that thing?
Other than looks, was it any different than a regular base?
It seemed like all the cool "serious" bassists had them for a little bit, and then I never saw them any more. |

I think the schtick is portability. No headstock and short small body = easier to carry around than an ordinary bass without reduction in scale length. |

thats more common than just the one bass.. headless basses were all over the place in the 80s and 90s.. still are today |

the shape may change the resonance of the body and thus the tone.. but ultimately.. unless you really dig into the specifics of the design.. no.. not really |
