How? Aren't both of those teams pretty set at center? What interest would they have in Brandon Sutter, who, make no mistake, is our only moveable asset with value. - Victoro311
San Jose is a team in flux looking to move some big pieces to rebuild on the fly. If they move Thornton or another piece it could open up spots. I think they make some bad moves this summer. |

Would Kings have any interest in sutter? If so, who would they trade to us? Brown? - joescullz
I'm sure LA would love to move Brown's $5.8mil cap hit for the next 7 years. He's coming off back to back 27 pt seasons which included years of 15 and 11 goals. |

If Philly called and offered JR B. Schenn for Sutter, would you do it? - joescullz
Honestly probably. Would love to play against Sutter and his silly nanny play style. Gives us a winger with top 6 potential who's preformed well in the playoffs at 2.5. Much rather have Schenn at 2.5 than Sutter at 3.3 especially when he's due for a raise |

Yes. For your other question I go with Berglund for the remainder of his contract, which I think is one more season, and that should allow Sundqvist to develop. It's a lateral move in terms of future, but a positive for next season. Bergy is a bigger body and handles our 3rd line center role better IMO. |

BTW, one guy we should go after is Condra. Right wing that can play bottom six and possibly top six. Should sign in the 1.5-1.7 range, unsure of term wants because he is 28 but that would be a nice move to make. |

Your gm would be stupid not to take that offer. We whowever are under different directions now and would not make that call even for sutter and a crap pick. B schenn for sutter would go down as the worst trade ever for the flyers...and we have had way to many of them. |

That's what I was thinking. If JR has to think about that deal then he shouldn't be GM. That deal would be a no brainer |

I don't even think it would be worse than Umberger for Hartnell. |

Best part of the interview was JR saying he's not afraid to use buyouts. I really hope they try to buyout Scuderi or at least trade him and retain some salary. Anything is better than paying 3M+ for a 7th D. |

I think he only has an 8 team NTC. I'm not convinced Pittsburgh couldn't eat half his salary and find a taker for him. He's likely to get $2m+ on the open market. |

Still think someone will trade for him IF he becomes available. That whole "make him a assistant captain" thing still bothers me. |

Looks like the Hawks got Panarin. So much for that pipedream.... At least it looks like we tried this time though. All you can really ask for. |

I agree to an extent with you. I think pens would have to retain salary though. |

I dont know if i would use "bust". BB's lack of production has been due to injuries. I think he needs to bulk up, get stronger and get into better conditioning. We could see a completely different player next season. |

Maybe. Stranger things have happened and he does have specialty "skills". |

A confident Beau playing with confidence roofed a short-side shot just off the right hashmark. I don't know how to do video on here but it's on the web and is wicked. He's got the skills somewhere in him, they just need to be nurtured properly. |

Sutter + to Winnipeg? They have interesting pieces over there. Lowry, Little, Wheeler, Ladd... - Barnaby36
He's the least "talented" guy on the list, but Adam Lowry is the guy I want |

This hurts so bad....so bad..
He basically has a free shot to come in and play next two one of the best centers in the world (one of them is Russian) and we still can't lure him here.. |

I hope the focus of our conversations this offseason revolve around 2nd line wingers. |

JR saying he doesn't want to tie up the club with one-way deals should've given this away. There's no room for another question mark. |

I think one way the penguins can get into more college kids sweepstakes is by giving Rust a chance to make the team next year.
no college kid is going to want to play for a team where they play 30+ vets on their bottom 6 and leave little chance of earning a spot.
giving one of your few NCAA a chance at winning a roster spot will go a long way. |

Detroit is done. That's good. I wanna get the perceived Babcock sweepstakes decided sooner rather than later. |
