Can they start the 2nd round on the same day a 1st round game could still be played?

Game 7 of the DET/TB series is Wednesday. Granted, it's an "if necessary" game. But If I'm not mistaken, the league doesn't start the 2nd round until the 1st round is completed. Is that correct?

Then the Hawks would be playing a Thursday/Friday or Thursday/Sunday scenario.

Bulls have the UC on Saturday and the NHL won't schedule something on Saturday not knowing the outcome of that game.

I believe I might be correct about it not being Wednesday. Buildings that teams play in have to be able to schedule around other events. The UC has that basketball team it has to work with, among other things. I'm sure there are other facets involved as well - travel, TV schedules, ect.

There has to be some structure to scheduling...

My guess is good old Devan Dubnyk is about to come back to earth. Can't sustain that type of luck this long. Needs to stop shedding his equipment for whistles as well. Probably learned that crap in Arizona from Mike Smith.
