Sorry disagree It is a great tradition . Always remember your past , like bring Hull Espo and Stan and Savy back as ambassadors of the game . 19 88 2 7 just off the top of my head . |

That's my bad, I changed the sentence and missed half of it. I meant to say Seabrook over Chelios and Sharp over Hull. - Sandus

You can remember without retiring numbers. Have a Team Hall of Fame, but don't deprive some young kid the chance to wear the number of his idol when his dream of playing for his hometown team come true. It's just silly. |

Good morning winners!
It's what everyone is saying because there's nothing else to say: These guys know how to win. When the moment is the biggest, they play their best, and better than the other team's best, no matter who it is. Just ask Zdeno Chara, Joe Thornton, Pavels Datsyuk and Pekka Rinne. We are very lucky to have this team. Now get 12 more wins. Go Hawks! - RomanF
Feeling a bit more optimistic this morning are we? |

Funny, I agree it seemed like they wanted OT. Same MISTAKE the Hawks made in the third peirod in Game 5.
The Preds were tired. The Hawks took their best punch in the first and responded with the three goals, and that seemed t kill them psychologically, after that the Hawks pretty much thoroughly dominated, except for a brief Pred push early in the third. - John Jaeckel
That 1 minute + shift in the Preds zone that led to the winning goal should be kept for viewing posterity forever. It was a perfect example of an experienced team with championship pedigree that sensed it had a great young challenger on the ropes and knew it was time to apply the knockout punch and executed it.
Have to admire the Predators, many great young players and I love their style of play. But an NHL team only gets so many chances to win and you never know if or when a second chance will happen.

The locks are 2, 19, and 88. 7 and 81 both have a good shot. With a longer body of work here, 4 and 50 (unless he gets traded this summer) are candidates. 10 is a maybe. 20 has the potential, and I could see it for 16 if he is a lifer here. |

On the winning goal, the Blackhawks had the puck in the Preds zone for 1:04.
I'm not sure there is a better line in the NHL than Toews, Hossa & Saad.

Before my time, but I thought D. Hull wore #10? - Ogilthorpe2
He did. Hubert "Pit" Martin wore 7. |

Way too many. There won't be any decent numbers left for the next generation.

Every retired number is a hall of famer (I don't count Magnuson's half of #3 as I think that was just a bone for the fans). Are Sharp, Keith, and Seabrook hall of famers?
You really going to give Seabrook the 7 in the rafters when you wouldn't give it to Chelios or Dennis Hull? - Sandus
Didn't Dennis Hull wear 10?

Great post JJ
If you didn't wake up with a smile on your face than idk what can make you happy. Call me crazy but that wild first period might have been the best thing that happened to the hawks last night, it gave them them the hunger and the will power to raise hell and fight back. Nashville lost their will power in the second and third
Still have a lot of issues to sort out for round 2, but how could anyone not be excited going forward.
Just realized if Minny/ STL goes to a game 7, it won't be until Wednesday ( same with Tampa and DET) assuming second round would start Friday or Sunday then? |

I thought Keith got better as the game word on. First period he and his teammates were bad defensively. Once things settled down his defense caught up to his great offensive night. |

Just watched the whole sequence that lead to the GWG, even more amazing the second time. The amount of pressure the hawks sustained was unbelievable. They had about 4 good chances to score before the goal |

Weber is a great player and was a big loss on and off the ice to the Preds. And if you don't agree, ask Mike Babcock.
Ribeiro is a here today, gone tomorrow guy for them. He will go to the highest bidder and sink back into his Alex Burrows / Max Lapierre type persona.
James Neal - great talent, 10 cent brain under pressure. |

The best numbers are mostly alll < 36, with single digits being the best. Next best are numbers ending in zero, and double digit numbers which are exempted from the <36 rule. Goalies should always wear 1 or something in the 30's.
My personal favorites are 4 and 44. Too bad Kimonen is tainting one of those right now. |

Most overrated D-man in all of hockey, IMO. Very good, but not the God he's made out to be. |

I have more faith in their scouting and drafting than trading. What do they have to show for Buff, Ladd, Brouwer, etc. A good gm would have more to show in the way of some young players acquired from other teams. |
