Hearing the @NHLBLUES will fire Ken Hitchcock this week. Former San Jose coach Todd McLellan will be high on their short list. - CaptainBlackhawk
well, he wasnt under contract after this year, so technically he isnt being fired
they just wont be bringing him back |

They could hire Jack (frank)ing Adams, but as long as guys like Backes, Ott, and Jackman are at the core of the team, they won't win poop. |

Tampa has to relearn how to score if that series is to reach game 7.
Tampa has been a huge disappointment...for me anyhow. - ArlingtonRob
Agreed Tampa has been a major disappointment. I think they should put out an APB for Stamkos |

I will say Im surprised the Blues got run by the Wild. Blues looked they were going to be a force in the playoffs. That system Hitch runs is very physically demanding. When he had the Stars, they were regular season monsters, but then would struggle in the playoffs.. Well bring on the Wild then. - z1990z
Why surprised? They choke in the playoffs...every year, it's what they do. It's the least surprising result of the 1st round. "But this year is different because....reasons"
Same Loser Captain, Same D-bag D-man, same Cement Head 4th liners...same results. |

Hitch will get the axe but should he be blamed for 1) very average goaltending; 2) Backes, Oshie, Steen, Stastny non-existent; 3) Jackman, Gunnarson, Michalek and even Bouwmeester just not good enough.
All you have to do is compare the 2 rosters and the Wild were/are the better team.
Hawks will have their hands full this series. Defence has to be much better than they have been. |

Those "key" players really showed up in the big games again for them. Steen and Backes are also now over 30. Hitch may be followed by one or both of them out of town.
Allen folding like many of us expected and their "veteran leaders" total lack of discipline at key moments (the last 3 mins of game 1 and other spots) cost them that series. Couldn't believe the announcers crowing about Ott's "sportsmanship" in the handshake line. What a crock!

Cant believe I'm saying this but the second line needs a Playoff Bickell type winger to replace Versteeg. Is there anyone in the farm system they would consider bringing up.
Like the balance of the other three lines so don't want to change anyone on them. Love that Saad is playing more physical and starting to finish checks |

Coach Kangaroo can be blamed for setting team goals like "chaos" and/or "imposing our will" in the playoffs every year though. He may want to consider re-prioritizing in his next gig. Playing solid hockey may override those other objectives.... Playing Stastny more than Ott may have made sense in those early games too. Players with skill over the bullies. The man never learns.
Nice that the next round will be about hockey. Unfortunately, the Wild looks like it has what it takes up front and at GT to beat the Hawks. Q really needs to give Cumiskey a shot over Timmo. The man is 3 steps slower and can't even think the game anymore. That trade was a total scam job by Hextall on Stan. |

A 6'4" 230 LB hard hitting beast that can skate and has a wicked wrister? I think pretty much every team would like one of those. Good luck. |

1.5 seconds left in BB is slightly different from 5 minutes remaining in hockey in a tied game. - RickJ

Going to be honest, I expected Hawks-Wild from the start of the playoffs and until last night I would've said Wild in 6 However after seeing the Hawks turn it on last night and finally figure it out I think Hawks take this in 7 games. |

I believe it's safe to assert the highlighted. Maybe Seabrook too?
The rest, not so much. There are great and good players in that mix, but you can't retire every number out there.
BTW, when does Larmer get into this conversation? There's a guy that should get consideration before Hossa, Sharp, Hjalmarsson, Crawford, ect. - EKolb13
I like the ring of honor and retiring the jersey ideas best. I have no problem keeping the numbers available for future greats. |

Yes...but I'm a lit less confident this time around. I really think the Blues would've been an easier out. Should be fun. Any chance Dubber cools off for us? |

Sens have summoned their inner Blackhawk on the PP tonight.
That, and they can't win an O' zone draw. |
