We could get him without trading that pick
- beargk

But trading Sam maybe

I would trade super Sam for malkin

That way he can pass the torch to Grigorenko!

Malkin ? you aren't getting Malkin without giving up our other 1st we have. The Pens don't have a 1st this year.
- SABRES 89

I'm saying 2nd overall. We don't have to trade that to get him. Other first, of course we trade that

Oh I agree, in no way do I move the 2nd over all pick.

Duncan is good... That's a good second round pick right there.

I would pass on Malkin, it's nothing against him as a player, because he's a great player. I just think it would cost too much, and the timing isn't right. 4 years ago it would have made sense, but he'd be 30 by the time the puck drops on the 2016-17 season

I would hunt Murray down if that happens..Reinhart and a second is what I'd want. Not big on trading defensive prospects right now

30 isn't a problem. Each year he can move down a line... Although that 9.5 hurts...

I don't know if trading for Malkin would be a good or bad thing.

But then there's the cost. I don't think the Pens would take anything less than one of Girgenson or Reinhart, one of Pysyk or Zadorov, our late 1st this year, and Ennis

Imo, it's very risky to trade for a guy like that.

He's missed 13, 22, 17, 7, 39, and 15 games in the past 6 years.

He's hurt EVERY year.

I'm a fan. They play some fine hockey. What a game it was tonight, crazy first period. Looks like Crawford got his starting job back (until he (frank)s it up again)

I'd love to see a big trade or two this offseason, but I wouldn't want it to come at the expense of the future. I think it's best to be patient, and let some of the young pieces we have fall into place over the next few seasons.

NHL free agents can discuss new contracts with other teams beginning on the day after that season's entry draft, which is also the deadline for a team to make a qualifying offer. Discussions must cease if a player accepts a contract from his own team or is confirmed to go into arbitration with his team, be it player- or team-filed.

EDIT: I do not agree with offer sheeting anyone anyways though. We are still gonna have a high pick next year. Having to give up that first and any other picks just seems like too much...

- JCSabs06

Not too much if its for TERESENKO! I've been banging this drum for some time!, Offer a decent Trade, if declined, apologize and OFFER a HUGE contract and have a NATURAL GOAL SCORER at just the RIGHT AGE to play with our New Centers!

Well in all fairness, not see-ing the previous 4 goals, he did make the initial save another save and then the puck goes straight to a Flames player who has time to get set and fire while 3 Canucks defenders were kind of doing nothing.

Our first round pick next year will be at least top 8. Given the change in lottery (again) dont trade or offer sheet that pick
