Riddle me this Batman, what you think it would take to get Kovalchuk out of Russia, to come play on a line with Malkin? If we could shed some salary it certainly keeps 71 happy and engaged . . .

We still won't have the cap room. We already have 35% of the cap invested on three players. Not a smart move to bring in another player north of 7 million.

Sven B. was traded to Vancouver at the deadline because Calgary finally gave up on the dud.

He never even got a proper shot. Calgary just looked at it as asset mgmt. In 2015-16, if he isn't on the NHL club he is waiver eligible. He could produce, it just takes some risk.

If the pens can land Panarin, that would be a massive get.. Most likely on a two year ELC

Will Letang definitely be back? I hope he is, never want to see a players career ended early by injury but isn't this his 5th concussion since he's been in the league? I look back at Mike Sauer and how his career was ended by a Phaeuf hit, kid was going to be a solid top 4 dman before that hit.

I have zero faith he will play over 50 games a year the rest of his career. He is very unreliable moving forward. His contract might be the worst in the NHL.

The kid couldn't stick with a lousy Calgary team in previous years. He played in 66 career games there, which may or may not be enough, but he was shuttled down to Abbotsford because he wasn't good enough. Now that Calgary is viable and very exciting to watch, there is zero need to hold onto him. While he is still young, he is/was Calgary's Beau Bennett. We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

30 pts in 69 games and he is 22 years old. Don't look into anything about what Calgary was... Mgmt had a different vision the first year he was brought up... He was doing just fine his first year and they didn't want to burn his ELC. They got offered a second round pick on a first rounder from years previous when he is waiver eligible. They gave up on him.

The penguins can't afford to acquire high end talent.. They're gonna have to get the diamonds in the rough. Canucks are either gonna be gambling with Baertschi waivers or not next season. He might be the next Grabner or Macarthur.. Maybe the pens actually give it a shot for once.

STL is going out in the first round for the 3rd straight year. They make Pittsburgh look clutch.

It's funny to see that Blues troll, who comes on here and says the same thing over and over, talk crap about the Pens only to see the Blues constantly do nothing in the playoffs. This one is for you

They fail to meet the expectations once again. I can't say I feel bad for Hitchcock at all though.

What's funny is that these 2 teams make great trade partners. Blues need a big superstar and the pens need depth. IF Malkin were to be traded, the blues could easily package Backes, oshie, +. Pens have a few d prospects who could help the blues and the blues have some forward prospects who could help the pens.

I still wold gladly take their roster over ours. They are closer to winning a Cup than us and anyone who suggests otherwise doesn't have a clue. They have more than one line and more than two non AHL type blue liners.
