I noticed this play last night, and wanted to find it so I did this afternoon.

NHL officiating is a joke...

As Malkin chips the puck in from center, watch Sutter flying down the boards trying to get the loose puck. He's skating hard, so likely would have gotten there first.

Hagelin just blatantly rubs him out into the boards.

Interference in every sense of the rule... Not going to be called in the NHL today, and definitely because the Pens are already on the PP. The refs just won't put a team down two men.b

It's a joke.

Why didn't you post the video of 87's elbow to Mac head or his high stick to Mac's head to make a point of bad reffing ? Don't understand why you picked the one you did

i hate him immensely, but i cant help but wonder if he would mesh with malkin.

i know working out a trade would be difficult from a personnel standpoint, not even considering the fact that teams wouldnt want to deal in conference like that, but i still wonder if he would work on that line, or if like you said, he would need another power forward flanking the other side.

I think a change of scenery would do him good and i love how much people hate Lucic and marchand because they like you would take him in a heartbeat

100 percent agree. hate them both, but i would take either of them. i have no problem putting aside my personal dislike and admitting certain things.

people can say the same about crosby, but they would with him as well.

i hate lucic, but i at least respect him a good bit. the dude is downright scary on the ice, and there really isnt anything ratty about him. if he has an issue with you, he will downright attempt to maul you.

marchand is more of the little rat wiener. but id be lying if i said he wasnt an effective player.

Well, because it is a penalty, and I picked a play that I noticed while watching the game. I didn't know that the Fairness Doctrine applied to hockey blogs.

My apologies.

The thing about rat boy is his role is getting phased out of the league but he's effective enough that he and andrew shaw will survive I'd be shocked if guys like lap or kaleta or cooke are around in 3 to 5 years

yeah. his role is rightfully getting phased out.

however, i agree. he still can be an effective between the whistles type player. just need to make sure the production still matches the salary.

to be fair, cooke was a decent actual player as well when he toed the line. but yeah, marchand shouldnt be lumped in with guys like kaleta as far as actual ability goes.

Production matching salary is the thing that destroyed both our teams I'd say Marchand is one of the few that earned his pay day this year

ill still never be able to say a cross word about bergeron.

where are the biggest albatross salaries currently residing in your team makeup?

chara is getting older and was injured, but its still hard to view him in a negative light from a Hub perspective.

Chara Kelly Campbell and Lucic were paid more than they produced. Chara had a torn PCL and fractured fibula in the same leg. He keeps himself in awesome shape so I think he can bounce back. Kelly were on the hook for one more year campbells gone and looch is on the trading block. Bergy was/is great. The extension chiarelli gave to reilly smith was doubling down on the travesty that was the Seguin trade. Some people say he's yet to hit his ceiling but Bergy and rat boy as line mates should bring it out of you(it didn't). We're gonna have about 10 mill of cap space but more than half of that is going towards paying dougie

Last year Smith looked like he was going to be a real good player but the few games I watched of him this year he was mostly invisible. But I guess he's still young so you never know

He got i think 2 points down the stretch after the extension that was the most painful part of the season for me. Looch might be an ok fit for the pens but buyer beware he's got a cap hit of 6 mill and thats before he gets a raise after next year

yeah, i dont know if i would be looking to give him more of a raise. respect what he brings, but he is in a lull right now.

i just imagine how nasty he could be opening room up for malkin and potting the dirty goals.

He's got arguably the most unique skill set in the league I remember when keyboard warriors like you and me dogged him for not fighting laraque and I thought to myself gee how many leading goal scorers on cup winning teams face that particular criticism. I think if he gets a playmaking center like Malkin (or a healthy Krecji) He can find it again

LOL best comment on there regarding Shero:

Let’s double down and hope with his new gig he will trade 2 second rounders for Rob Scuderi as reparations.

Honestly.... who the F*ck would want them? I mean, like Jfkst1 says, Ray has drafted exactly one top 9 forward in his tenure.......and people wonder why there is a depth problem.

Dan has two generational talents and has won 4 playoff series since the cup. Frankly, if the Islanders had an NHL tender a couple of years ago that number would be two.

Absolutely mangled this team.

Pittsburgh has had terrible luck with the injuries, with their D
being healthy this could easily be a 2-2 series right now.

And yet they are both cup champion guys. Cant say that about every coach and gm out there, can ya?

True, but Ray didn't exactly build that cup team. Most of those players were Patrick's.

And when Dan installed his vaunted "system" the following year, the team fell flat on it's face every spring. When Dan took over for MT, he says he didn't change the X's and O's very much at all. I heard him say this in an interview. He said there really wasn't much time to institute his system in 09. He just gave the forwards a little more freedom.

Hey guys, your friend "znagle" got out of his group home again and found his way to a computer. I know he's an inbred Ohio mongoloid that probably spent his formative years chained up in some fine gentleman's basement eating dog food and having sex against his will but he's pretty annoying in our thread during a playoff game. Does anyone know the number of his caretaker so they can take him back to the home?

Looks like everyone has given up on the year and we are back to talking about how we suck.

I dont think we are that far off. We obviously need forwards, there are teams out there with decent forward prospects that are seriously hurting for dmen.

Edmonton - They have to trade one of their wonderkids for defensive help. I personally think they are going to target Seth Jones, and that has the making of a good hockey trade. But if that doesnt happen, we do have the pieces in our prospects to get one of Eberle or Yakupov. Pouliot for Eberle?

Vancouver - If there is a team that needs defensive prospects more than Edmonton its Vancouver. Kassian is going to get traded, for whatever reason that team has soured on him. I personally think Kassian is a perfect fit for Malkin, he is big, can skate, and has hands. Bennett + Harrington/Dumo for Kassian + 2nd

Dallas - They need a dman to QB their PP. Nichuchkin (sp) is a match made in heaven for Geno. Pouliot +

I'd look to resign: Comeau and Winnik

I'd look to trade: Perron, Kapanen (I think he's a bust, injured constantly)

UFAs I would look at are Matthias, Frolik, Booth

Not saying Dan shouldn't have been fired, but if we are basing it off of that, Mike Babcock has only won 3 playoff series since 2009.
