Best thing I have read today. That was great. I thought Rozi played well.
That young Nashville d corp is outstanding.
If they come up with a better #1 center they can go for a long ride next year.

"Why can't the Hawks have as much drive with the man advantage as they do 5-on-5. They lull themselves into a coma and give an irritated staredown when an opponent takes it away."

According to the Preds blogger it's the Hawk's PP that has been the deciding factor. 5-on-5 has been all Preds.

The call that still baffles me is the one on Bickell in the first that resulted in a PP goal for Nashville.
If you make that call on a face-off then be prepared to make 50 more during the game. Sticks across bodies and interference occur on almost every face-off.

- 67hawks

Not to mention Neal sold the call by grabbing the stick and falling all by himself to sell it like the true D-bag he is. Gotta get an advantage somehow I guess.

Nice to see Bickell destroying Ribeiro and Ellis last night.

I noticed that you cannot quote the initial post from the blogger. Otherwise, it's fairly the same. Then again, I could be missing something?

At any rate, PM me what you think is wacky, and I'll pass it along to the person who handles that.

Quoting is hiccupping at times. Not just the original poster.... messed up 3 or 4 times already today.

Vermette.

My take on him is the "Q way" takes time to adjust to. He was struggling, and actually looked depressed out on the rink - maybe out of frustration more than anything.

It is amazing how his attitude, and by effect, effectiveness appeared after he scored. Could not have been better timing. The Hawks need to be stronger up the middle so guys like Shaw can stay on the wing where they belong, and so they can win more draws.

Tomorrow will be a tough one. Weber will be back with a mission. Dont underestimate the impact of his absence. I think this series gets won on Saturday at the UC. Which by the way is also good for Wirtz and friends.

With Nashville facing elimination, if they feel Weber could contribute in any small way despite his injury, I wouldn't put it past them to try it.

...even if the Preds have to use duct tape and super glue to put him back together just to get him out on the ice.

Bickell delivering some big hits and Kane really starting to feel comfortable out there and confident he is healthy spell series over next game
Plus that last overtime it looked like the defense was exhausted for nashville

if you can't feel excited centering patrick kane you should retire from hockey. Hoping Q keeps this line together because playoff Bickell is in beast mode

Chicago area native Craig Andersen getting the start tonight. Hamburglar is on the bench per TSN.

Props to Rinne, who played really well last night, and to most of the Preds team actually. Without Fisher and Weber, they're still hanging tough and should not be taken lightly. James Neal...ugh. I'd say more but I'm going to keep it classy.

Darling: Wow! What a great story--though I have liked his game since he started with us.

Now for the whining: Can we PLEASE get a franking Power Play? Most of our time on the PP is PAINFUL to watch. We have, without question, some of the best scorers in the league. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE A POWER PLAY THAT ACCOMPLISHES SOMETHING CONSISTENTLY?? Ok. I'm done.

Great win last night...er, this morning.

Oh yeah. Seabs is a beast and so is Hoss.

JJ you don't think that Darling's performance is Stanbo's free ticket out of cap hell?

By trading CC you may be able to keep two of Seabs, Oduya, and Sharp as well as resign Saad and Kruger. And even if CC is somehow better than Darling next year, the cost of replacement for those other guys will likely be a significantly greater drop off...

John,

Spot on with the observations.

Keith, Hjalmarsson and Oduya were very good. Seabrook a average game at best until the OT winner. Rosival held his own last night with no major mistakes and a few nice plays in the O-zone. Timonnen is just....well.....done, 12 very protected minutes in a 100 minute game shows the coaching staff just doesn't trust him. Only positive is that the top four of NSH were all 42+ minutes and their bottom PAIR didnt get much more time that Timo.

Vermette and Desjardins both with real solid games. You want ref complaints? Why no trip call on the Desjardins move to the net? 16/11/65 becoming a pretty effective line, not just shut-down.

Bickell's playing well. Still needs to SHOOT more when he has the chance, not a finesse player, stop trying to be one.

Versteeg the most frustrating player on the ice. Had a little snarl to start the game, but returned to his maddening self as the game went on. Q managed to bubble him down to the 4th line by the end of the game, maybe the next stop is the press box.

Give NSH their props. Rinne was excellent last night, and NSH comes hard forechecking for a lot of the game.

"But Seabrook’s goal probably doesn’t happen without Bryan Bickell blotting out the sun in front of Pekka Rinne."

JJ - PLEASE, PLEASE tell me you are as fed up as I am with this PP. It's time to put #29 in front of the net (among other tweaks).

Why can't the Hawks have as much drive with the man advantage as they do 5-on-5. They lull themselves into a coma and give an irritated staredown when an opponent takes it away.

- TyCamScore

No PP is effective without puck retrieval, the hawks #1 unit cannot do it. Thus, no success.

Honestly, hope for a STL win tonight, Hawks victory thursday so Kane can rest another half a week to a week before a possible matchup with Minny or STL. If STL-MINNY goes 7 then we can get a rest before what would be an incredibly physical series.
