Agreed, but at this point, who knows. Honestly nothing ever surprises me at the draft
- markyjoe

Murray said something along the lines that he's not interested in dealing the pick, but since listening is free. He'll definitely listen.

I highly doubt, that with the goal being one of these two players, that he wants to then sell the fans out by trading the pick unless it's for McDavid.

I don't think the kids going to be a scrub or anything, but Stamkos is proven and an amazing player. I'm excited to see Eichel in a Sabres uniform, but to think he'll be better than Stamkos is a reach for me without seeing him play
- stashu

This isn't a fair statement at all. First off Stamkos and Eichel put up similar numbers in their respective starts. Eichel playing in a much harder division than Stamkos had in Juniors. Also Eichel hasn't played a single NHL game yet. You can't say Stamkos is better because he is proven when Eichel hasn't had a chance to prove anything outside College yet.

Emphatically relevant.

Gerbe knows prospects.

Gerbe DROOLS over prospects, but they're still that. As I said, Stamkos is proven and the chart you psoted showed Eichel to be a 0.06 p/game better projection. I stand by my opinion.

But again, I'm not saying anything bad about Eichel, just have proof that Stamkos is great

But based on that chart Hall and Kane are better than Stamkos and Tavares..

In my evil mind I wish he played in the CHL this year cuz I know he would destroy those numbers we all know he's third behind McDavidbut who knows what he would be if he was in the CHL I can't wait to watch him in 2 weeks

My Boston question wasn't because I knew/wanted anything from them, just wondered if they had anything good in their system that would pull it off - was a bit of a probing question as I don't really follow other teams to know how their system/farm is

I based my question on Boston wanting to go "nuts" to get the local boy

I just think across the board, if Edmonton or Buffalo were to trade their pics to any team, they would want instant results. And theres really only so many teams in a position to do that. Just discussing WITH you, not arguing.

I believe you're wrong about that.

But that's fine, ignore any other parts of my statements that I'm excited for Eichel

I'm quibbling over semantics now, but I think that chart demonstrates that it is NOT "a stretch" (your phrase) to believe he'll be better than Stamkos.

Especially if you read the whole article and why it concludes those tables of stats don't give Eichel enough credit.

All in the interest of pumping everyone's tires.

Oh, I know you weren't arguing, don't worry.

And I agree, a trade out of that spot would require something obscene like Stamkos or some other team's (likely a failing team with star players) best player(s). I'm more than happy to keep the pick though - especially moreso than trading for #1

Well, they ARE just "juniors" numbers as opposed to professional numbers. Lots of people put up some damn good stats in juniors.

I'm not ignoring your statements about being excited for Eichel. I was just saying I think its unfair to compare an NHL Pro who has had several seasons under his belt to a College kid who hasn't played in the NHL yet. Obviously we know what Stamkos can do, but I've heard a few people who said Eichel would of given Stamkos and Tavares a run for their money in that draft year. Time will tell right?

I get it, it's just the Ryan Leaf/Daigle sort of scariness. Anyone can be a monster coming up, but at least Stamkos has gone so far as to prove that he has the ability to be that in the Pros.

After hearing what people like Buccigross have said about Eichel and other articles and such, I'm extremely happy the tank was a success.

Giroux, voracek, Simmons, and their first
- beargk

I would still pass. You get a chance to draft a star like Eichel you make him your franchise player. Who's to say that in 4-5 years Giroux, Voracek, and Simmons don't walk out on you as UFA's. Then you have nothing while Eichel is captaining Philly on cup runs. The kid is 18 and will be an RFA for close to 10 years for us. Give him the big contract a year before he hits the UFA market and will have him for 10-15 years.

Gerbe has said Nikolai Ehlers, and Mitch Marner are the next Patty Kane's.

I think he gets a little too excited

I'm 100% there with you on that. There are few sure things in life, and 1st overall picks are part of that. McDavid or Eichel COULD bust, but I highly doubt it. I was all about McDavid, but after watching BU in the Frozen 4, and watching Eichel in the Worlds and such...he won me over. Many people are saying its like loosing on Ovi and getting Malkin. I'm definitely okay with that sentiment lol.

Jay Feely talking about Tebow:

"He's such a dichotomy for me. Because I really respect the person, the man, the things that he believes in and the things he does off the field," Feely said. "He was the single-worst quarterback I ever saw in my career in the NFL."

Feely then proceeds to tell a story about Tebow warming up and losing ... to air.

"I watched him one day ... I sat and watched him do routes on air with Ken Whisenhunt as we were playing the Broncos," Feely said. "And routes on air, there's no [defensive backs], you know exactly what he's going to run, there's no pass rush. He had like 13 incompletions on routes on air. Jim, you and I could go out and do routes on air and we would complete most of our passes."

and we all know who giroux is and his NHL peak and people have to look at the age he'll be 29 when will be contending for a cup as Jack will be 20 and not even in his prime
