No chance. First bad call by the refs and all the sticks are on the ice.

I'm going bench. Right to the bench and hope I don't hurt myself flipping it over the boards.

Just bite the bullet IMO. Keep Corpseburger around hope he rebounds

I don't even know what I want them to do -- gone back and forth on it so much, I have confused myself

At the end of the day, with Chief gone, maybe some guys get a new lease on life, depending on who they hire

With only one year left on his deal, they'll be able to move Grossmann, at the very least, if they truly need the room

If they hire another defense-first coach, you have to do something with Vinny. Don't know what I'd do

I figure he'd be so mad he'd toss Steve Coates on the ice

Get me in there now before Bundy's back between the benches.

It sounds like the oilers are going to try really hard to get Mclellan.

I had been reading that, but there were some quotes out there by him that indicate he might not be cool with losing a ton of games

The Oilers can certainly make a big push in trying to recruit him, but he was asked about the opportunity of coaching the Oilers, more specifically McDavid, and this was his answer.....

"I would like to coach a great group of hockey players next year,” he said. “Connor McDavid is, obviously, everybody’s talking about him and his ability to come in and have an impact. I’m assuming that the Oilers will pick him number one.

“But one thing that I’ve learned: you can have the best player and still not have the best team. It’s about team. It’s about a group. It’s about the whole organization and the culture of the organization.

“Connor’s going to be a very exciting player to watch — again, I’m assuming in Edmonton — and he’ll have an impact on the league for years and years to come. But the bigger story is about the group as a whole".....

I've thought about it. If they go to a heavy offensive system like McClellan uses. Assuming that's what he sticks with, with this current group of players and defensemen, it could get very very ugly. The roster just isn't there to play that way especially from the back end

From how you describe him, they could really use him, tbh -- Travis Zajac and Adam Henrique are good two-way guys, but they need pure offensive talent

Hell, I don't even know if the forwards could, with the way they pass and receive the puck

Chief's people skills were absolute poop, but he was running the right system

Don't hate me, but if someone tells me he will be a 25-goal, 55/60-point guy consistently, I won't be sad

Everyone's saying T.O. wants Strome. Should be an interesting draft.

I personally don't think that calling McLellan a offensive first coach is entirely accurate. In my opinion what his system is, pretty much the same style that any top team plays, is a puck pressure possession system. He wants to pressure the puck in all 3 zones. Get in on the forecheck and create turnovers, while being responsible defensively. I don't want my team regardless of personel to sit back and play a passive game and just defend all game long, and have to ward off attack after attack by the opposition. The intent wasn't to play that way with Berube either, who is labeled a defense first coach. Now there is often a difference between design and execution, and which team is able to force their will and carry the play.

They already feel like they lost McDavid, if they lose Strome they'll be inconsolable.

That would be a hoot. I think the Flyers should just hire a professional heckler to handle their press conferences.

Is Don Rickles still alive? If so, is he available?
