If Eichel stays in college I won't watch another game ever! I'm sure he rather not play for such a loser team.

Reinhart lol, what a joke we drafted him 2nd overall, watching him live the guy fell down or was knocked down 20 times, such a terrible skater. It looks like he just learned how to skate a few months ago.

Before the draft I made comments about how I rather draft Bennett...I'm not a guy who makes it up after the fact, I never liked Reinhart and his lack of desire and skating...Even WGR said one day that the team and even players in the lockerroom have serious doubts about Reinhart and his future.

No I don't write anything for Yahoo or anywhere else. I'm just a fan who has his opinion. I watched Reinhart live and he was a joke. I can't believe we wasted a second overall pick on a guy who skates worse than Paul Gooser. Even Reinhart himself in an interview said he needs to work on his speed, strength AND intensity. He said Intensity 5 times in one interview which is NOT a good sign. David Cooper also said he "needed to work on his intensity"...How'd that work out? I don't like heartless players lacking in desire.
- MrSquirrel

How was his intensity playing for Team Canada in the final 30 seconds taking 2 important faceoffs to secure the victory at the World Junior Championships this year?

Does there pick not get lower for us if they advance to round 2? Or are round 1 and 2 bunched up a sorted based on standings during the regular season?

I watched him live playing in the NHL and AHL and his skating is terrible total joke, he was getting knocked around every shift, he can't move around with quickness.

Let's make a bet, I already said around draft that I believe he will be a bust, we can have a side wager. What do you say? You think he's gonna get 100 points? Next Messier? I bet you think Grigerenko is the next Malkin too lol

Watch Bennett for Calgary, that's the guy I said I wanted, speed, scoring and high energy, not a 3 toed sloth.

I think the reason why Murray apologized to the fanbase is because of all the hype around him and feels as if he himself disappointed the fans despite having the best possible chance to draft McDavid. There's a lot of people here that watched McDavid for some time, plus the hype of Buffalo hosting the Erie Otters and Niagara Ice Dogs game. McDavid has lots of friends here and even attended a fair share of Sabres games.

He didn't need to apologize for anything, but there was a lot of heart break at the lottery. I'm sure even McDavid wanted to see Buffalo getting the #1 pick. There's some attachment here (Even though he's a Leaf fan at heart xD) but you can't fault Murray for saying what he said. Eichel is an incredible hockey player, we all know that. There was just more close-to-home attachment to McDavid.

Regardless, the future is bright. Tim Murray is doing a great job. We're going to get solid coaching. We don't have to deal with this tanking BS drama. We're about a mile from reaching the end of the tunnel. The light is in reach, friends. Just smile and wait a little longer.

I'm just hoping for a Mike Green signing, and a trade for a RW (I know not all agree, but I want kessel) and I'll be pretty happy with this offseason. Elated if they bring back Chris Stewart, or bring in Justin Williams.

30. Stanley Cup Winner
29. Runner Up
28. Conference Finalist
27. Conference Finalist
15-26. rest of playoff ordered by points, division winners, no matter of points seeded last

Since STL won their division, they'll have a lower pick than the NYI as long as NYI dont reach the conference finals. If STL doesnt advance to the CF but the Islanders do, thats a worse case scenario for us because the Blues were a division winner. Our other 1st round pick will be mid-20's.

But if Isles lose in 1st or 2nd round, AND any combination of the teams in front of them make the conference finals (Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Calgary, Winnipeg, Minnesota) then their pick goes higher in the 1st round for us.

Paul Hamilton mentioned that about Reinhart, that his skating needs a ton of work.

I'm a big Reinhart fan, but it won't surprise me one bit if Bennett ends up the clear cut better player. I said it before that draft that Bennett had more upside

I thought the players in the locker room thing was about Grigs. Wouldn't surprise me either

Hamilton was talking about Reinhart too. He said I think "People in the locker room and management are concerned" something like that

I didnt, and saying I did would be wrong.

I actually said all 3 forwards were close and the only one I didn't want was Ekblad

Reinhart? His NHL start was almost a year ago. Contrary to your logic, young players do actually improve. I don't know if you remember, but the majority of the fans were up in flames about not being able to get Reinhart after not winning last year's draft as well. Grigorenko didn't seem to do too well and it seemed like Girgensons was our only solid lock at center. The team needed a center and Reinhart was the best. And we got him. So I'm not understanding your logic in taking Bennett over Reinhart as the Sabres.

Do I like what Bennett is showing? You bet. Very fast with offensive upside. But Reinhart is VERY responsible as a player, especially defensively. Give him time to adjust. Creating offense as a winger is easy to do, however managing tempo, creating offense and being defensively aware as a center is a whole new monster. As most coaches say, the offense will come.

Be patient about Reinhart.

No doubt Bennett is a strong individual player as far as speed and aggressiveness goes but give reinhart his credit too. Guy plays smart hockey. Doesn't have to be all about speed.

Correct. He's more electric.

He has more star power to his game, Reinhart is just good all around

Reinhart hopefully is perfect for what we are building

Sure lets bet. I say youre crazy. No he probably will never reach 100 points. Certainly not the next Messier (weird comparison that no one has come close to suggesting). I win the bet, because I dont think Grigorenko was ever the next Malkin.

Thanks for playing.

Im happy Bennett is finding short term success in Calgary. Whats funny about it is he got knocked around as much as Reinhart did in last nights game alone. It had nothing to do with skating, speed or energy. It had to do with being an undersized 18 year old kid.
