i love reading these articles and the comments. something i never see talked about is Buffalo's goalie situation. forwards and defense is looking pretty great for the near future in my opinion. what about goaltending? ya know the most important position on the ice?

You mean studs like Darling backstopping your team? If you have a good team (not saying Buffalo is ANYWHERE near Chicago's caliber), you don't need the elite goaltender back there

NHL star Jarret Stoll tried to smuggle an 8-ball of cocaine and 8 grams of Molly into a Vegas pool party ... by hiding them in his board shorts ... this according to the police report obtained by TMZ Sports.

The L.A. Kings player was busted around 4:30 PM on Friday while going through the security area -- that EVERYONE goes through -- on the way in to the Wet Republic pool party at the MGM Grand.

Despite the sign CLEARLY warning people that they will be patted down on the way inside, Stoll took his chances ... and a Wet Republic security guard found a pink baggie with white powder and numerous "gel-caps" with an off-white powder inside consistent with the drug "Molly."

According to the police report ... when asked if the powder inside the baggie was coke, Stoll said, "Yes."

Cops say Stoll had 3.3 grams of coke ... and 8.1 grams of Molly.

Frankly, I would give Lindback a modest raise and sign him for a couple of years.
then look for a veteran UFA to back him up and see what happens.
If he blows it and we have to send him down, it's not like we have to deal with a 4 million dollar goalie on our cap to play in the minors.
We traded a overachieving nobody for him and then HE started overachieving. i had no problem with his play this year on the Sabres. Albeit, his sample size was small. Hence the modest raise and shorter term.

I still say they bring in Craig Anderson.

A) he's signed for 3 years which is in the realm of the rebuild/playoff success.
B) he won't cost a ton
C) Chad Johnson is still signed to a one year deal to back him up
D) It gives the kids one more year before one of them needs to/should be ready to make the jump.
E)Midway through year 2 or at the start of year 3 Anderson can be fazed out into a more 35/65 role and the young gun can run with it.


This is all based on "IF" they have their guy in the system. That is a question I do not have the answer to.

I do look at it that way. How players play in big games is a huge factor in my book, especially when this franchise has had so few of them.

It's one thing not to dominate in those situations. It's another to be completely invisible, and he was just that in those two games I mentioned.

I get that playing in big games is a huge factor but it also makes a difference if you have your 1st line going up against another 1st line compared to having your 3rd line with a clear first line center on it compete against 3rd liners, you will most likely see that guy dominate

Murray (our GM) has mentioned numerous times in interviews that he's had discussions with a bunch of teams about young goalies thy have who might become available.
He plans to revisit those talks in the offseason
