What is your argument about Drew Stafford? If he was not part of this deal and traded separately he would have probably gotten a 3rd round pick. That's a far cry from the value of Evander Kane around the league.

I'm glad we have Evander Kane for next year, are you?

Who wouldn't be happier to have Evander Kane on their roster rather than Drew Stafford? Kane does more and he's younger. Am I missing something?

That it's a little alarming that Evander Kane struggled to produce in a place that Drew Stafford and the over rated Tyler Myers found immediate success.

You (not only you) act like Evander Kane is this bonafide stud, Zach Bogosian is this shut down defensemen, while all the parts going the other way either wouldn't sign here, sucks and will be in Europe or is over rated.

It's kind of ridiculous

But Stafford sucked here.

Myers needed a change.

Nothing would have changed with these guys had they stayed.

So, therefore, adios, I say.

If Drew Stafford wasnt worth much more than a 3rd, Tyler Myers obviously didn't have much value, then how on God's earth are two players who have both been wildly inconsistent, injured, and just plain not great worth Myers, Stafford, plus 3 other pieces?

What was the poster suggesting by stating that STAFFORD had a more "impressive" year than Evander Kane who was injured, playing excellent with the shoulder injury on the 3rd line playing a different role for the betterment of the team.

Who would compare a "Streaky" player that we've all seen done this, did it, got the T-Shirt, that is also lacking many strong traits that Evander Kane brings to his game.

I realize that this poster will forever be scared by us trading an inconsistent, talented, but not hard in the corners D-Man for a Young Strong, talented Established NHL Winger.

And I respect that opinion. What bothers me is taking my opinion, and basing it solely on the fact that I liked Myers. Therefore that's the only reason I hate the trade.

You know Kane has been just as streaky right?

The way he's talked up, Chevy must have been on drugs to move him out

Hopefully the trade works out for both teams.

It's potentially a great "hockey trade", something we see very little of anymore in this salary cap world

I considered Drew Stafford a throw in in that deal for the most part considering he is a UFA, his age, his past production, especially in non-contract years. Good for him that he is producing for Winnipeg at a rate he only did once before, in a contract year, for the Sabres. That doesn't make me yearn for him to be a Sabre again or think he was too much to be put in the deal. I don't know why he was even brought up regarding that trade, Lemieux was what stung to lose in that package in my opinion.

Sorry to ruin your night Stosh, I just feel we've been beating this horse a bit too long, but going on about how we lost DREW STAFFORD is more absurd than anything I've posted.

Ok, so name a Winger with the skill set and age of EVANDER KANE that you would have approved of?

Every team in the league wanted in on Evander Kane for a reason! The dude is a beast on the ice. The only issues he ever had was BS off ice kid poop that shouldn't even be mentioned in my line of thinking. Every player or Coach of Evander Kane has been on Record as stating KANE plays EVERY game with a FIRE and a Toughness, when he hits the ice, its GAME ON!

And you compare that to F**&ing Drew Stafford........

Exactly! This is intelligent hockey knowledge being explained.

When did little groupies and Ref's start to pile on somebody's opinion as worthless?

Forgive me again, for mentioning something that I read. I tend to like to read the thread leading up to the current posts. If something catches my interest I always felt it was ok to give a response.

I was unaware of having to be on here when the comment was made in order to comment on it? Is that a new rule?

Perhaps you might want to take a few minutes and calm down.

You came in and commented on something that you consider an annoying topic, yet you just HAD to get your post in almost 3 hours after a person's post.

Not ONLY that, but you wrote that he said something he didn't.

You charge in like a crazed bull and try to turn the table on to others.

Those other pieces that you make out to be future studs and you and only you still has this remorse for Armia who isn't even producing in the AHL at age 22.

You look at Myers stats but ignore how he plays in his own end and that is probably what made him expendable to TM.

The Sabres had depth on D but needed skilled forwards upfront and they went and got one along with a tough top 3-4 D in Bogosian. The team got tougher all around and a top 3 forward. Those don't grow on trees. Maybe give Kane a chance in Buffalo before you continue to beat this dead horse all off season.

E. Kane first six seasons: one 30 goal season, no 20 goal seasons, reached 50 pts once.

D. Stafford first six seasons: one 30 goal season, two 20 goal seasons, reached 50 pts twice.

Just to be fair...
