Totally agreed, I'm effing "jacked" to get Eichel!! I don't get being dissapointed, this is why we tanked and now we are getting a superstar and the other guy is going out west where we will only have to worry about him in a cup finals.

McDavid is definitely special. But so is Eichel. Honestly, I almost feel like Eichel's style is a slightly better fit in Buffalo.

I feel the same way. We are all disappointed we didn't get McDaivd, but Eichel is nothing to sneeze at. That was the whole point of finishing 30th. Eichel seems like he will be more physical. Only time will tell. Who would you rather be, us or the Leafs?

I met a guy that's been a scout for Windsor and Brampton while I was in Cancun. Played a bit back in the 80s in the AHL out of Jr. He told me he thinks Eichel will be the better player.

Ya Oilers definitely don't need draft picks especially because they suck at developing players. I'd think they'd probably want to trade for more established young Dman. Kinda like the Kane for Myers trade.

Yeah, the further north you go, the tougher the accent to understand.

Not sure what you mean by that, Buffalo has a fit ? My feeling was kind of that who we drafted would start to define what the Sabres are from this draft. I think with Eichel as well now this makes us a tough team to play against.

Murray has been trying to build a tough, physical team. I think that Eichel fits that mold a bit better than McDavid. He's a more powerful skater, where McDavid is a quicker skater. McDavid is more of finesse guy where Eichel is a bit more of a power kind of guy.

One of the guys from Central Scouting (Marr) pointed out those differences in an article that the USA Today posted.

I dunno, I just got done watching both players highlights from the WJC, and Eichel just looked more explosive, bigger, stronger, and overall I'm pretty happy we will be getting him.
