You don't think taking Buffalo with McDavid to their first cup would be a bigger deal than in Philly? At least Philly has won as long ago as it was.

Buffalo is the armpit of the United States.

I refuse to accept the hiring of Todd McClellan. Bill you're right on the money, he's been the coach of the Sharks since '09, and they've done diddly squat.

But don't you know? It's all Joe's fault?

The Flyers are part of the 40+ year Cup drought teams. Not many of them. The only place Babcock can win a Cup that would be bigger than doing it in Philadelphia would be Toronto.
- PLindbergh31

There are five other teams with longer Cup droughts than Philly.

St Louis might be interested in Babcock if they choke in the first round again.

I jumped out of my chair when Markov beat Broduer from the blue line.

I don't remember the 2010 game 5 very well. I guess it was too easy that year.

If we can't have Babcock then I want Bylsma and heres why..

1) He coaches a system similar to lavis, but puts a little more emphasis into defensive structure then lavi did.

2) As Bill said his teams were solid during the shootout, and thats something that has been killing us the last few years.

3) I always thought he was blamed to much for the pens under achieving at the end. The pens would have won the cup in 12 had they not played us. Just like Boston would have last year if they didnt have to play the habs. Ever since 09 we have been the pens kryptonite, and you can't blame that on Byslma.

I don't think this has anything to do with coaches to be honest.

2) you don't think having Malkin, Gonchar, and Crosby had a lot to do with that?

Seriously though, he's a coach you bring in for a veteran/experienced that is underachieving and needs a spark. Kind of like the Pens in '09... He's not the coach I would hire for a rebuilding/retooling Flyers roster.

The best candidate would be certainly be Babcock if he becomes available but they will likely have to throw mad $$$ at him to get him in Philly. If not, I would say the next best fits are Julien, Tippett, or Dineen as my dark horse candidate. I would like to see someone who hasn't coached the Flyers before but with some solid NHL experience.

The draft lottery is being televised on NBC tomorrow night at 8pm, before game 2 of Pigeons/Rags.... It's going to be pretty exciting.
- PLindbergh31

How do they announce the results? If teams 8-14 before us don't get shown we know one of them got first pick. If team 14 gets the first pick it will be a short show unless they mix it up somehow.
